Yep, loved it! Understatement though... and the staff are awesome! Only had one day in London and didn't get to see Buckingham Palace and thought that that would be a great reason for a return trip... now I'm thinking Steam Engine Pub Love is a better reason! My wife concurs. Sheldon from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

User

This trip back to London, my son and I have had lunch here three times and it has been excellent everytime.

Not only are the burgers exceptional but the staff are friendly and professional, the environment is welcoming and the drinks selection caters for all.

Highly recommend this place and will sing its praises in Melbourne!!!!

User

The staff was friendly and food was delicious! Definitely made my stay in London even better than I had already planned!

I know exactly where I'll be staying when I come back in the future!

User

The blonde waitress and the Algerian chef were lovely!

User

The Juicy Bastard was on another level, amazing!

User

Just popped in for a quick late lunch and had the most amazing gourmet burguer...and loved the larger brewed in London. Meantime - London larger. And the French barman was really helpful and friendly

User

If your looking for an affordable place to stay and don't mind sharing the room with other travelers, this is your place. Plus you'll get the best Burgers, Brunch and all sorts of Gin and Ale you can think of.

And the people are nice!

User

Great staff!! We were made very welcome!

User

Great place to sit and have a beer with a best burger in London , great athmofere and great staff . We came from US and we wanna feel as a local UK and we did it . By that way great food , we loved a English breakfast. From that bar to kitchen to upstairs staff , great service , make we all feel home . Thanks Manuel and staff.

User

Great food, really cool staff, and a fine gender-neutral hostel upstairs where I met other cool travelers. They have the best fish and chips I ever had in my life; the white chunky piece with the green sauce in a sandwich form and extra crispy fries? Please don't change it; it's excellent. The Spanish late-night/morning bartender that kept me company with fun and cool stories all night/morning and helped me so much with my traveling issues- I still remember you so well.:) I would re-visit this place.

User

Great food, great Service..it's a bit hidden, but that makes it for me..

User

Great food, drinks and atmosphere. The pub/hostel was an excellent home base for our stay in London. The staff was fabulous and will make sure you have a good experience there, especially Daniel!

User

Great welcome , great beers and awesome burgers for a cheap price. Music and ambiance are very nice. And if you book a room you even get a discount on meal. Plus it's breakfast free. Well if you don't mind the dorm it is a great place to go. Nicely placed by the way.

Cheers.

User

Brilliant place. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, honoured to be at this pub/hostel (24/7 for those who are staying at hostel).

Very welcoming and great atmosphere, some really nice bartenders - Michael Remick is brilliant to talk to. They do look after you. Enjoyed the pub quiz too.

Great selection of food and drink - enjoyed the fish burger and chips, some of the seating areas have power sockets which were handy! The hostel itself reflected what you would get in London and has a traditional feeling to it which is great. A lot of hostels that I have been to are too contemporary and thus feels more like a student/profession, whereas I got to speak to others which was great as you wouldn't really get that in a typical hostel and people would usually keep themselves to themselves.

The pub/hostel is off the main road which is great as you don't hear traffic nor get the wrong type of crowd coming in. I have to admit that when it gets busy there is not much room but that's something they can't improve on due to the size of the pub. If it's busy, it's busy!

Would love to see them expand on a book collection, guest photo gallery (on a wall), addition of a piano/guitar would be great if they ever chose that as an option. This would also mean they could hold open mic sessions in the future if they chose to look into that. Some of the rooms could do with additional power sockets and small bed lighting - but I'm not complaining. Can't wait to see the refurbishment to the place next year! Especially the shower/toilet area. Though people have been complaining online about this, it still is functionable. However, I hope they install new showers. Would love to have more options for food during night time stay. Pizzas were lovely but maybe pasta would be great too or even soups etc. Would like to see a 20% discount instead of 10% or maybe a meal/deal as it can get pricey. Again I do expect that in London but I'm not complaining much about that.

PLEASE NOTE: that this pub displays it's opening hours. However, it is only 24/7 for those who stay at the hostel. This is very handy when other hostels to do not offer this as an option. Also don't expect it to be 5* hotel or something. It was the cheapest near central London so I was more than happy with what I paid for.

User

Awesome food. Just 2 mins away from my hotel.. good priced burgers and dirty fries.. good atmosphere.. great service.. recommend to any traveler

User

Top little pub. Great location with booth seating. Cold beer, always a plus for an Aussie, good meals. Quiet clientele and friendly staff. Well worth our stop to rest the feet and lubricate the throat.

User

I stayed here for a week while in London. Good pub - great food and drink selection. Hostel was alright - a bit cramped with 3 level bunk beds and not really enough powerpoints between guests, but overall was good. Beds were comfortable, and even staff were quite accomodating when I asked to change from the top bunk to a bottom bunk. Only two showers between all the rooms, but I rarely had to wait for a shower at all so it was no issues at all really. Location is absolutely ideal as it's close to central London, walking distance to Westminster sights and also really close to the tube, but it's off the main streets so it's not noisy at all really. The fact that it is 24/7 is quite handy also. I'd definitely stay here again.

User

Had the Jucy Bastard Burger and I have to say, it could have been the best burger I have ever had!

Great selection of Gins too.

User

Friendly staff!! Good music (for me thats always a possible anoying thing) food was a bitt dull..good but thats all like. Worst was the smell from the toilets that made it half way threw the place. So. Not bad, but not amazing either. Could sitt down for a quick burger and a GT. again
