A warm friendly well orginiased pub and resutrant... The staff a super lovely a d the food was just fantastic ... the breakfast was great the service was remarkable.. a truly one of a kind b and b with the heart of home ... The rooms are rooms nothing fancy the beds are warm well presnted... but if your worried about that then your in the wrong neck of the woods :-) The prices are reasonable and drinks too.... The views are breathtaking as the clouds roll over the mountains early morning... Plenty of seats and plenty of drinks from the bar to choose from ... If you want the Ritz head to London it you want good honest value and a smile and warm welcome the above says it all...

Stayed for three nights recently and loved it. Rooms perfectly comfortable, suitably equipped, with a good shower and a hearty breakfast to boot. Micro Brewery next door so no shortage of a decent pint after a day on the fells also a fine collection of whiskeys and gins. Staff friendly and accommodating. We ate in house each evening (table is booked for you as a resident) plenty of choice, good portions and piping hot.

First visit on a Sunday here and we opted for the Sunday roasts. There was a really good selection of veggie but the meat itself was nothing special ( it is not a carvery) Having ordered lamb one of our party was given beef and when questioned the waiter claimed it was actually lamb. We were disappointed that despite it being a lovely sunny September day we were not allowed to eat in the garden and were told their were not enough staff to clear up. Our other visits here have been much better maybe taking over the Screes pub opposite has stretched them too far ??

Lovely local pub with an excellent range of locally made ales, serves a good range of hearty pub grub at very reasonable prices. Muddy dogs welcome. Well worth a visit.
