Went to the Pie Fest yesterday and had a great time. They unfortunately ran out of a few pies but it was understandable as the event was so popular. They provided gourmet Burgers as a substitute and one of our party had them and he said it was really good xx

Went here had a lovely meal enjoyed the lamb steak with some of the best chips I have ever had. My hubby had a homemade beef and Stilton pie. Which he throughly enjoyed. Would highly recommend worth a visit.

Went for mum's birthday yesterday. Had a lovely Sunday lunch followed by drinks on the lawn. It was really busy as was such a beautiful sunny day but the service was great and we were well attended to. Hats off to Howard and staff who were rushed off their feet and doing a great job!

We had planned a picnic at Lydiard Park for my son's 3rd birthday today but due to the weather, that idea was no good! The Sun Inn came to our rescue by letting us use their marquee in the garden so that our son's 'party' could still go ahead. They let us use it free of charge and were so accommodating, bringing any food and drink out to us. We 're so grateful, thank you �

The Sun is my local pub, but I wouldn't eat out anywhere else. The food is outstanding and the service impeccable. The regular festivals they host are always well organised and hugely enjoyable. What a bonus to have this on our doorstep!

Thank you to Howard and all the staff for a wonderful New Years Eve celebration! The food, atmosphere, fireworks and music were amazing! I hope you guys get some well earned rest today! Thank you again from the Kramers

Nice atmosphere. Nice beer. Nice Food. Starters mains bottle of wine some pints of real ale and a soft drink with a couple of coffees to finish. Bill for 4 under £100.Landlord doing the rounds and having a chat with clientele. Lovely night out.

Held my Sons Christining after party, couldn't recommend a more perfect venue, food was amazing and staff were fantastic ... thank you, we will defiantly be back ! 😊

Great food, fabulous service and a good atmosphere, we really enjoyed our meal there.

Fab lunch here today! I intended on having a baguette/sandwich to pass the time of day whilst my car was in the garage up the road. A really warm welcome from the young lady behind the bar who greeted us and told us about the lunch special of the day, which was chicken and chorizo carbonara served with a small side salad and garlic bread - it was delicious and an absolute bargain at a fiver! The landlord, Howard, took the time to apologise that the bar was a bit chilly and that there was some light banging noises from some work being undertaken to the log-burner. Didn't bother us in the slightest.



Every time I visit this pub I wonder why I don't visit it more often. I shall endeavour to drop in again soon and perhaps try a Sunday lunch. �

Excellent staff, the food was very good and the service excellent.

We will definitely be using The Sun again when we are next in the area.

Everything,gr8 food,Howard is a very friendly landlord & all of the staff are very very friendly and helpful and will do whatever they can to make your time there a memorable one.

Brilliant day at the sun for the sausage and cider festival ,,staff were excellent even though it was very busy due to a scorching day ,the food was really good and the Berries were fantastic . A really good day out ,no complaints

My car exhaust decided to fall off on the way home from football so I managed to get it to the garage next door to the pub and park it up but needed a pen and paper to let the garage know what was going on.



Really nice bar maid and staff and a friendly atmosphere overall. I have also eaten there in the past and I highly recommended the place for food and especially in the spring summer months it’s perfect for a cheeky cider outside in the garden

A great Easter Sunday Lunch ! Howard and his staff made us all more than welcome! Thoroughly recommended �

This was a Christmas Eve meal . To be honest not much choice on the menu . Restaurant was not very busy so lacked atmosphere. Later in the evening the pub got busier , so the atmosphere improved . Food ok . Service good . Have eaten here lots of times so will return .(Several times on Christmas Eve .)Would not go again on Christmas Eve though !!

Nice quaint pub and helpful staff but limited ale selection (mostly due the small size of the bar) only gets 3 stars due to the limited menu especially the disappointing Sunday lunch menu.

Don't think we will be returning to eat. Fine for a drink however not really impressed with the food.
