Located in the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale it really is walking distance to anywhere in the town. Friendly staff and nice rooms. Stayed in a superior which whilst comfortable was a bit standard. Free hot drinks throughout the stay and fresh milk to the rooms for hot drinks. Wasn't our choice of hotel but we had a gift voucher for there so wasnt going to waste it. Very little to do in Kirkby itself, take a good book if the weather is bad!
Good beer. Comfortable bar area. Nice and pleasant staff. Good location.
Great experience. Four of us had the 3 course evening meal and really enjoyed all the courses. We also tested the extensive special gin drinks menu.
Overall very good staff and service.
Worth the visit.
My wife & I ate at the sun inn. Very disappointed with the food. The staff were friendly enough however very quiet & indifferent. The portion sizes were a joke & the venue seems to have a thing for pea foam soup? Which was placed before us even though we never ordered this bizarre & disgusting dish, very odd. Also, the mains were smothered in a strange fruity tangy sauce which was blobbed all over the plate & it clashed with the meat & veg. The place is tidy & modern and can't fault the bar, but the restaurant food quality & portions are appalling & we won't be returning.
Great pub. Lovely landlord. God selection of beers and nice environment. Why only three stars. The restaurant. Menu takes the forum of a set menu only. Service was interminably slow but friendly. Did when it arrived was seriously over seasoned with salt
Excellent food. Top music (picked by John Helliwell from Supertramp) and a pleasant atmosphere.
I really enjoyed my dinner at the sun Inn. There were no problems what so ever, service was quick, the food was excellent and it wasn't a bad price.
Beautiful little village with the Sun Inn being a hidden gem. Amazing food and drink with fantastic service.. Would recommend this to anybody.
A one night stay to enjoy Kirkby Lonsdale. The location is perfect, next to the church and on the town's high street. As the location is right in the centre of town, there is no car parking but a pass is provided for a nearby car park after you drop off your bags. The room was not massive, but tastefully decorated and very quiet. Free tea/coffee from the bar. The staff are lovely, friendly and really accommodating.
