Went here to have a lunchtime dinner yesterday and it was very busy, ordered and waited about 20 mins, the chef brought the food out and apologised for the wait but we weren't too fussed. The wife had the chicken curry, I had the beef and ale pie and our lad had the burger, FANTASTIC. DEFINATELY now on our regular place to eat list.

User

We won our two course lunch with a bottle of wine as a generous raffle prize donated by the pub. We really enjoyed the food and hospitality and will return again with our friends. Yummy!

User

The hubby and I had a cheeky quick lunch date yesterday. Fab from the moment we walked in, we were taken to our table which we got to choose by a lovely guy, think he may of been the landlord? Asked if we wanted drinks which were bought over to us, took our food order straight away and food arrived within about 15 minutes giving us time to enjoy our surroundings. Left with very full tummy and the food was very very nice. No room for the pudding but we will do that next time.

Thanks for a lovely dining experience. We hope to visit again soon.

The Sussex Oak Warnham is a wonderful country pub the staff are friendly and customer service great the choice of food is varied and caters for most tastes well cooked and presented.

In the summer the garden is a wonderful peaceful setting for lunch .

User

Popped in for some lunch. Gourmet burgers were very good. All staff seemed polite and friendly. One member of staff even stopped eating and came to serve me although clearly on his break. Kids meals were good too.

Beers - great. Food- great. Service-great.

Well worth the visit.

It was our first visit to the Sussex Oak, while visiting friends who live in the area. We had an excellent lunch. The kids meals where massive the boys had the junior combo, my wife and I had sandwiches and they were beautiful. It was the 25th of October and the sun was shining in the garden it was lovely. Just wish we lived closer. as Eastleigh in Hampshire is too far to travel at the weekend. We couldn't fault it in any way, great customer service thank you. We will be back in the new year. *****

Had a fantastic meal the food was excellent. This is a great pub friendly and welcoming I would thoroughly recommend it. I have rated it 5 stars.

User

Beautiful great big beer garden to sit and enjoy what I would say is the best in Sussex . The food is lovely especially the Sunday roast . On top of this very friendly staff. X

User

Always great food at a good price, fast service and you are made to feel very welcome. Offer a good selection of food and large/small portions of food. Home made traditional and delicious.

User

Always a friendly welcome, with great food and a large beer garden for when it's a bit warmer outside. A 'Mad Dog' is my 'go to' for a lunch time treat with a pint of cider!

User

A lovely pub we sat in the garden as we have our dog but we had a meal outside and it was lovely .good service aswell .

Family Sunday lunch, including 3year old and baby. We’d booked a table, but did wait a while to be shown to it, staff did notice us but didn’t really acknowledge us. When we were shown to table service very good, shame about first impression. Food very good, only disappointment was the large Sunday lunch not much bigger than small, despite £4 difference in price, couple of extra roasties & bit more meat. All meals very good & manager very attentive, informing my daughter there was baby changing facilities in disabled toilets if needed. All in all a lovely lunch, just a couple of gripes.

User

Well, the pub started off nice, food was good, beer was excellent but the whole experience was ruined when a a table full of whining children sat next to us. There appeared to be a kids party in progress, I thought we were in a pub, not a kindergarten!

User

Hadn't been for a few years as we had a bad experience but thought we'd give it another try, as it used to be good here. Sorry to say the Sunday roast was one of the most average we've had in a long time, especially for £12.50 - it wasn't terrible, just very very ordinary, not great quality lamb, unseasoned veg, boiled spuds and roasties when just roasties would be better. We gave it a chance, but I don't think we'll be back until we see things have improved.

User

sorry but got to say it as it is which is very poor. service was ok but the food just not up to scratch, curried Parsnip soup was so thick my spoon stood up in it and you could taste the curry POWDER that had be put in it, very bitter, then had main, a sunday roast, veg was good as was the gravy but as for the potatoes and Yorkshire pub, NO, yorkie pub was very stodgy and under cooked and my biggest upset of the day was the Roast Potatoes, I am sorry but part boiling a spud then sticking it a deep fat fryer is not a roast potato in my book, it is either a very large round chip or a deep fried potato NOT A ROAST POTATO so please do not advertise it as one,, will not be eating here again ,

User

Service was good. Nice to see a few more Vegetarian options on the menu, however, extremely overpriced and quite uninspiring food for what we paid.

User

Really disappointed! Having visited tonight and ordered a simple dish of pan fried salmon with new potatoes and broccoli, I was surprised to have to wait 40 minutes for my food to arrive. (The restaurant was only half full, so not very busy). The dish was the most insipid plate of food I have ever seen. The salmon was soggy, watery and definitely not pan fried. The potatoes were squashy and soft and the whole dish was hugely over cooked and completely inedible. I was given a refund and a perfunctory ‘sorry’ but didn’t feel like they were that bothered. Will definitely not be returning.

User

Ordered starters (which were mediocre at best) and waited almost two hours for mains. Very slow service and staff that don't seem to care, ended up leaving without our dinner as it got so late that we could not wait any longer with our baby. One very large party sat down after us and had all of their food and drink brought out no problem, as did the majority of the pub, but ours and another couple of tables had to leave as the service was just so diabolical! Excuse's varied from a power shortage in the kitchen to mix up of orders and various other kitchen problems. Ruined a friends birthday! Will never try and eat here again!
