"The taste of feedom... My partner in crime and I stumbled on this delightful little bolthole totally by accident. We were hungry, we drove past, we stopped, and the rest, as they say, is history. The second we entered, we were entranced by the charming and attentive landlady. She recommended food and drinks and was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the the produce she was selling. She was happy to add to, or adapt dishes according to our wishes and the food was excellent, absolutely excellent, coupled with a huge selection of beers and ciders from all over the world. We drove long way to get to this pub, by chance, but I would do it again.....and again....and again. Being on the run has never been this good."

Currently in our #Enomatic we have a fantastic Muscadet sur Lie which we have paired with fillets of plaice, new potatoes & wood smoked Mediterranean vegetables.

Thanks Ben R! Fantastic Evening!!
"We have a tradition of going to The Swan every year for a friends birthday. After chatting with Jane and the staff over the years we have gotten to know them quite well so this year we requested a taster menu with accompanying drinks. We could not have been more impressed!! the food served was absolutely fantastic from start to finish and the drinks selected for us did an amazing job of making the food taste even better!! It was great to do something a little bit different for such a reasonable price in lovely surroundings. This will be the new tradition without doubt! A massive thank you to Jane and the whole team!!"

"You must try The Swan!!! Fresh food.
We dropped in here randomly after a meeting we had in the area. Looked fresh with plenty of parking. It's a FREE HOUSE so had an AMAZING selection of beers. The food was indeed very fresh with menus changing twice a day. The fish pie and beef hotpot went down a treat."

"Wished we had time for more than coffee!! Dog friendly!
We stopped here on our travels, having our dog with us, just somewhere to stretch our legs and have a coffee. The pub was lovely and quaint and a bonus was dog friendly. There is a dog walk from the rear of the pub and very pretty it was too. We then sat in the garden and had our coffees, two very nice lates, £2.75 each.
A shame we didn't have time to sample the menu or the beers! Very friendly staff."

Thanks Tom for writing this:
"We had a great time here, it was everyone's first visit and we plan on celebrating here again. The service was good and the staff were very knowledgeable about the food and drink on offer. There is an amazing selection of drinks, you are almost guaranteed to find something you have never tried or an obscure favorite you haven't had in a while. The food was good yet not special. However it is fresh and the menu changes depending on what produce is available so next time the food might be amazing."

"Great food!
A lovely old characterful pub, with an excellent menu. I had rabbit with peas and new potatoes bonne femme, and asparagus to start. Delicious, and nice beer and good service. Will go back again."

"Wonderful to find a traditional pub that hasn't been stripped of its character.
Great atmosphere and without doubt the best Sunday lunch we have ever eaten; crispy Yorkshire puddings, meat beautifully sliced and the most delicious vegetables and gravy. The staff were friendly and efficient and the surroundings characterful and laid back. What's not to like?"

Thank you Graham for taking the time to write a review:
"Absolutely beautiful Elizabethan Pub. With 120, yes 120, Ales from around the World.
This Pub is quite special. It is a beautiful Elizabethan style pub in a lovely setting. Stratford Saint Mary is slightly off the beaten track but well worth seeing as it is a lovely village.
... The Swan has one of the most varied and sophisticated selections of alcohol you will find. Cask Ales are their specialty both local and from around the World. However there is a choice selection of Sherries and Wine. Top that off with an excellent menu. We called in for lunch and were delighted to find this hidden gem. The food was excellent and the service both from the Bar and the kitchen could not be matched. The bar Manager could not have been more welcoming. Excellent find in the heart of the Country. Please see photographs attached. Recommend the sausage rolls, wow!!"
