Good morning everyone! Lots of sore heads today I hope!? Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday! The rain didn’t stop you coming down and supporting us and it was a brilliant day. The highlight of the day was the rain stopping in time for the incredible SMOKING GOATS! Today is our last day!! So come on down and enjoy the last bank holiday until Christmas! Beers, bbq and hopefully....SUNSHINE! Cheers! 🍺

Rain sucks doesn’t it!!? Well, we still have a fantastic range of ales, lagers and cider available! Wonderful Valentine meal with my fav man in the world. The food was to die for,great service, as always.

What an absolute perfect little hidden diamond of a place! I wish we had longer to have stayed from the friendly approachable staff to the child friendly spacious garden an the beautiful food x we will definitely be making the trip over from Ireland again x very adaptable to having a drink with your friends to dinner with the little ones couldn't have been happier with our choice of accommodations this trip over x highly recommended �

We held our wedding reception in the back room at the Sword Inn Hand and it was the day we have both always dreamed off. Jeremy (the landlord) was possibly the best landlord we have ever met and nothing was too much trouble for him. The food that was laid on was out of this world and received soooooo many complements from our guests. Jeremy lets you decorate the room as you wish which is just wonderful. We had 30 guests and also some our side tables which was plenty of room. The children loved the trampoline and the male guests loved playing football (all in their wedding suits!). Our guests also fell in love with the pub and its location and who can blame them it's magical. It truly was a day to remember and we cannot thank Jeremy and his staff enough. We shall be back for sure, maybe sooner than later as it's just an amazing place with food to die for! Thank you sooooooo much again. Love Emma, Ahmed, family and guests xxx

We had not been here for 30+ years and happened to be in the area. Received a very warm welcome and had an excellent lunch. Won’t leave it 30 years to visit again !

This has rapidly turned into my favourite place to eat and drink......

From lunch time sandwiches through to a full evening menu, everything i have tried has been spot on and finally tested the Sunday roast at the weekend and again, it was excellent....



Staff always pleasant and helpful but can get quite packed out so make sure you book if you want a table......

Thank you for an undeniably wonderful courteous and fun weekend. The service and staff are super friendly and observant, gracious and will fall over backwards to accommodate your every need. A wonderful, warm, fun, lively little pub and the food is delicious xxx

Such a great afternoon at the Sword this afternoon for a large family get together. Sunday lunch was absolutely amazing and HUGE portion sizes � Jeremy and his team were brilliant, they are all so lovely and cannot do enough for you. The kids loved playing in the garden and play area. Perfect venue � thanks guys! X

Little gem of a place! Really fast, polite service from the young man (also a biker) who even recommended some nice roads for us. Roast was bloody brilliant - we arrived 10 minutes after service stopped and still got roast so frankly we were expecting manky leftovers but it was just delicious, and reasonably priced too. Definitely recommend, especially to bikers looking for a pretty garden in which to eat hearty proper food for decent money and close to lots of lovely lanes.

Having just returned from a Caribbean cruise on the largest ship in the world, the Harmony of the Seas & spent a month enjoying quality food & service in the renowned USA, I can without a doubt highly recommend the delicious lunch from the 'snack' menu (added bacon & sausage) & boutique ales. The attentive services of the two young staff here yesterday 11/1/18 were absolutely on point! You guys are a credit to this establishment! Bravo�

Fantastic food. We had Sunday lunch there and it was splendid. Decent portions, lovely staff. I would highly recommend.

Delightful rural pub with excellent food, great ales and comfortable accommodation. Conveniently located just off the A10 meaning easy access to London and Cambridge. The landlord is exceptionally friendly, helpful, and genuinely cares that his customers have an enjoyable experience. Highly recommended.

Came today for the beer festival and found it to be a lovely place with great atmosphere. It was well organized and all the little touches were beautiful such as the flowers on the table, the hay stacks. BBQ was great as was the band! Can't wait to come for dinner one day soon!

Another fantastic meal on a Friday after a last minute change of plans due to hold up on road. They managed to fit us in despite it being very busy and as always the staff were brilliant. As a coeliac so needing gluten free foods they go out of their way to help & even made me a special starter of crab cakes with gluten free breadcrumbs when I said I would love them but assumed not possible. Best place for gluten free in Hertfordshire as they will adapt dishes wherever possible. Well done to all the team !! As we said in the night, your Wi-fi password really is right !!!
