just moved to devon 5 weeks ago this was recommended went from bideford to torrington and back was great really enjoyed it loads of friendly people will be back again next week
We would like to thank all the staff at Torrington cycle hire for their help over the years. Nothing is too much trouble. I had to stop cycling but Adam, Archie and John have worked hard to adapt my bike so I can keep cycling. We had an emergency a few weeks ago which we couldn't have coped with without their help. You won't find friendlier people. The coffee is good too. Jane and Angela, thank you both for all your help. You make life a better place for us all.

My wife and I hired bikes from Otter cycle hire in Braunton and had a fabulous day out on the Tarka trail
Fantastic views and excellently maintained cycling tracks. All in all a fantastic day out.
Loved the Tarka Trail, a really great facility. Beautiful scenery along the way and we had lovely weather too. A smashing lunch at Fremington Quay...highly recommend that! Thank you to all those who help to upkeep this brilliant trail!
Loved our ride out yesterday. Did a little 14.4miles out and stopped at Buffing Billie Cafe 14.4 miles back . Look forward to our next adventure soon
Love walking the Tarka Trail - some lovely views great facility for cyclists, walkers, families. Can recommend
Honestly l was not expecting much but the whole family hired bikes for the day and off we went . It was a lovely and long ride which we did with the family 3 miles of riding the bike there was a small busy cafe and another bike hire shop .We did a stop there .After our small break we went on the trail for another 3 miles the next stop was a harbour .Honestly there were 9 of us and we all enjoyed ourselves. We didn't complete all of our journey but we did cycle back so altogether we cycled 12 miles. A truly wonderful experience minus the sore backside and the achy muscles you get the next day . I will come back and complete the whole trail .....
Had a great day out with all the family .. great lunch at Fremington Quay
For a walk ride what ever I can’t think of a better place. Its great for all ages and abilities
Fantastic beatiful place for a run. Nice and flat looking forward to going back for more.
By recommendation we did the Tarka Trail. Parked free at the School Park and Ride then a short 1 mile ride along the river bend to the start - passing plenty of shops for provisions. We were on road bikes and set out on excellent maintained tarmac which gave way to very well compacted coarse crushed rock surface - no problem. Excellent ride along cooast, salt marshes, estuary, woodlands, arable fields - on the course of old railway. Superb and lots of places to stop for food / drink and even bile shop. The track well maintained and could be ridden anytime of year. We did Bidefeord to Meeth and back (52 miles) in about 6 hours with 2 x 20 min breaks. Superb want to do it again - perhaps as part of the Ilfracombe / Plymouth Coast to Coast. FULLY RECOMMENDED!
Amazing facility, largely flat and away from traffic other than a couple of road crossings. Signage isn't great in Barnstaple, where it's needed as you aren't following the old rail line, but it was fantastic destination, will be returning.
A stunning walk which can be accessed from many different starting points and one which I never tire of. Much of it is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Well worth visiting at any time of year.
A great days cycling. Perfect for all cycling ages.
Mostly flat and Tarmac, quite peaceful walk, lots of bikes though when walking dogs
I walk my dog on the Tarka Trail a couple of times a week, sometimes longer walks sometimes short cuts! There are so many different access points to vary walks.
There is so must nature to see and such beautiful varying landscapes.
It is a great photographic opertunity or just enjoy the fresh air!
With changing colours of plant life, it is poetical! Sometimes you will be lucky to see wildlife too, squirrels and birds, truly beautiful for all ages and abilities.
See you later on one of my walks !
I did about16/18 miles torrington to instow.
Great ride. Lovely stops on way..
Station cream tea wonderful
Great for all the family. Walkers and cyclist alike. With a little bit more upkeep of the hedges and some parts of the path, proper lighting in the tunnel, would be 5*. Great place to visit
