Well there really are far to many things to say about the New Year’s Eve party we attended last night. So where do I start.....Firstly thank you too all the staff who worked all night with a constant smile on their faces. The red carpet as we walked in really made us feel like we were in a casino. The casino was such a fantastic thing to think about doing as it really made you feel like you were at a casino and playing for real. The casino staff were great at pulling everyone in to join in so a huge thank you to them. The kitchen staff deserve a huge pat on the back as the buffet that was provided was more like a full meal and we all thoroughly enjoyed it especially the chilli �. As always park radio were fab and really created a party atmosphere.

So thank you thatchers needle for a fantastic night, my feet hurt and my heads a bit fuzzy but we can’t wait to do it all again next year ��

We have just been for a late lunch after visiting The Organ Festival and it was great. The food was lovely and hot, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn't have to wait very long for our food,although they were quite busy, and everything, even the drinks and the bill were brought to the table, so no queues. Will definitely be going back. Many thanks.

Supported a lady in an larger adapted wheelchair to this pub; very friendly and accommodating. Food was lovely and would go again!

Passed your restaurant on the way to banham zoo today and decided we would stop in on way home. So glad we did meal was absolutely lovely kids ate every scrap (which rarely happens) just a shame your over an hour away from us or we would defo be back again! Only have one downside when my son asked the man behind the bar for a kids menu he couldn't find one and told us we would have to look round the tables for one ourselves. Luckily another waiter we asked was more than happy to help.

Lovely friendly pub, welcomed like we came in everyday , food choice was suitable for any tastes. We had their speciality the rotisserie chicken , you choose everything , the size , the sauce, the sides plus if you don't eat it all they wrap it up to take home. Great choice of draft beers too. Read some reviews that were not too complimentary, all I can say is we had a great meal with great attentive staff too , will def be back when back in Diss next year �

We had a family reunion last night. Sat outside in the garden and shared an impromptu party. We had a great time working our way through the Gin menu!

Stopped to eat there for the first time ever . We had our dog so sat out side . Ordered our food and hubby came out bring drinks and a lovely staff member with a bowl of water for Monty. Fish and chips where excellent. Couldn't fault it. Defo be back.

Massive thank you to all of the staff on Halloween! I brought my kids to the James D Party and they had a brilliant time! James was fab (as always) and the pub staff we’re friendly and helpful. I had a issue with my burger, but it was quickly resolved. The food is basic pub food, but £7.50 per child was great value. Gold star for the bloke in the witches dress - great customer service and very funny!

Have had ok experiences at the Thatchers. But decided to have lunch here yesterday. And I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Staff were lovely, food was lovely and it wasn’t too busy either. I have however been a few times before and the staff forget about you in the family area. Because I think it’s out of sight. Which isn’t handy when children are impatient as it is and we have to wait longer to be served because we’re forgotten about. But I was childless yesterday so think that’s why it was much better. But it shouldn’t be that way, should it

Called in on our way back to Bungay on Sunday. Staff was very friendly did not wait long for food to arrive and it was hot, will be calling in again.

visited 19/8/17 The Service is normally ok here but on our last visit we waited a while before being served. The food is ok but as for the cod and chips we found more batter than cod. We was going to stay for desert but was put off by the waiting around so we didn't bother. The guy behind the till asked if everything was ok and we complained about the slow service and the excess batter on the cod to him. The people to the side of us waited even longer to get served.

We visited thatcher's needle twice once was last friday everything was fine the service and, food was excellent we had the chicken so i would give them top marks we went again yesterday as a treat due to us coming home from holiday We had to wait 15minutes before we got out food I had the 8oz steak my wife had the tikka masala curry she found a bone in it and, told the young girl who came and asked us if everything was ok she told the kitchen we was then told by the young lady that the chef told her it may contain bones he said it stated on the menu we checked the menu there was no mention about anything to do with bones on it. my wife emailed them to tell them but not heard anything back and doubt she will now..

The wait for food and service was long food was a little dry and bit over cooked also a big no no was I ordered a non alcoholic drink but didn't realise that it was an acholic drink until moving the bottle away a little disappointed to be honest

Staff great ..food was ok but had ingredients missing on my meal no yougart and mint dressing as a chef myself this is not good when a meal goes out all elements need to be on the plate and this is not the first time I have been here and this has happened.will not be coming back very poor

Under staffed. Waited nearly an hour for our main meal. They had a group in & couldn't cope with anybody else ordering. A lot of people were complaining about their wait for food. Maybe they should have been honest & told people there would be a bit of a wait. Then we would have had the choice to leave or wait. Having now read the reviews below it's not having the group in at all. Service seems to be slow most of the time. Meal was lukewarm, the corn on the cob had been forgotten. By the time it was brought out hubby had eaten most or his meal. Didn't bother with desert because of the waiting around. Won't be going back. Disappointing.

never again we both had the half a chicken with peri peri sauce and it was not spicy at all the veg was hard and the fries looked like they had been cooked over and over again the food was cold i would not waste my money on going here again very very poor

we told them about it and they asked if we wanted a free drink



we then said no but the said that they would take our other drinks off the bill when the bill arrived we noticed that they still had left a drink on here

Really poor food, missing food off plates, asked for rare steak and was well done not rare, chicken dish looked like it had been under the hot plate for a long time tasted as bad as it looked. Service was really slow and poor as they came back to check what we had ordered. Table was dirty and sticky. Very poor.

Online menu enticed my family and I there, I took no notice of rubbish reviews, since they were from Oct 17 thought they would of sorted issues but sadly not - Food rubbish, Drinks long a wait and Rubbish and not wishing to offend some of the staff but service also rubbish for to slow and to have to keep reminding them about drinks, food missing etc for me value for money? Rubbish! But don't suppose they will miss us as we wont be going back. And certainly wont miss them.............

My husband & I decided to go to the Thatcher’s Needle in Diss last night (Sat 18/08/2018) for an evening meal, when we went in we went to the bar area where a young girl came & spoke to us so we asked for a table for 2 please, this young girl told us to find our own table which we did & then someone would come over to take our order, a group of 4 young girls came in & sat on a table near us & a waitress came to their table & took their drinks order, she saw us sitting there & said she would be with us in a few minutes to take our order, we saw 2 waitresses who came near our table so we thought they were coming to take our order.. no such luck... 40 minutes later we gave up as no-one had come to do so, we walked past the bar area to see 5 members of staff standing inside the bar area talking including the lady who had been to the table near us and told us she would come back, we told them we were leaving as we had been waiting so long for one of the girls to say “Goodbye then” we wanted to give the Thatchers Needle another chance to see if it had actually improved since our last horrendous experience when we took a family party of 11 people ( 2 small children) there for a meal & drinks for us to wait over 90 minutes for our food to actually turn up & when it did it was cold & the meals were wrong. Obv this eatery has not improved as we found the service this time around extremely poor yet the staff had time to stand around talking inside the bar area instead of doing their jobs & assisting customers, they were obv quite happy to lose customers too as their attitude quite frankly was rude & appalling to say the least. This experience has shown us that it has not changed & we will not be returning or indeed recommending the place to anyone else, on a much nicer note their loss was the Spice Cottage in Diss gain as we then had a very nice meal & extremely enjoyable evening with very attentive staff & will most definitely be returning & highly recommending them!!
