What a lovely charming place. Excellent food. Gorgeous room and the most amazing full English breakfast (especially the mushrooms!). Huge thanks to all the staff. Very friendly indeed. Makes such a difference to have friendly staff and thanks to the owners for such a warm welcome and overall great experience. Your attention to detail is just right, even down to the mini bottle of conditioner in the shower (as I'd forgotten mine!). Thank you.

What a fantastic place. Stayed for the night before a family member's wedding, after days of complications with 'the beast from the east' and 'storm emma' disrupting England (and thus, the wedding). What everyone needed was a restful night before the ensuing wedding day. Bride, mother of, father of, sisters of, and myself stayed overnight - maxing out the three rooms that were available at the inn and our stay couldn't possibly have been made more enjoyable. A quick check-in followed by a nice meal on the evening really helped to calm the nerves. Then, unexpectedly, with sympathy for the bride-to-be, the manager comes to our table and presents an ice-bucket containing a complimentary bottle of Champagne - stating that they'd heard about all of the difficulties surrounding the wedding and wanted to do their bit to make it special. After some kind words, we were then left to enjoy our dinner, enjoyed the bar, the girls went to their rooms to do a little 'hen party' and most of us enjoyed a restful night before the big day. The rooms were all clean and tastefully decorated - no issues at all there. The following morning for breakfast, bearing in mind that we were a party of 5 vegetarians and 1 vegan, the staff had pulled together to suit almost everyone's needs - unable to brave the snow to get extra vegan-friendly supplies, what was put together was more than enough - especially with such warm and friendly service. Special shout-out to the member of staff who had stolen her child's peanut butter and brought it to the Inn after the bride had requested peanut butter the night before.



The following morning - we were left with a practically free reign of the building to get as many pre-wedding photographs as we like, including some beautiful photographs in the front of the building in the snow.

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived, the food was delicious and nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful staff. We took our own birthday cake which was brought through after our meal and it was beautifully presented, they even helped us sing happy birthday!

We popped in today on a super busy Sunday lunch time, and had a fabulous meal. We called up 15 minutes before wanting a table and the staff accommodated us with such short notice even though they were fully booked! We had a lovely table in the bar made up for us on arrival. Delicious fresh food for both adults and children...everyone finished it all! They even did a mini veg platter for our youngest baby, without us even asking, they just offered after we asked for some bread for him. Lovely staff, friendly, warm and great food! Highly recommend, we will return! Thank you for such tasty food.

We had a fabulous meal as always, the roasts are to die for!! Excellent service, we were well looked after by all the lovely waitresses and couldn't recommend it enough!

One of the most wonderful places we have ever stayed in - what a gem! Great location, beautiful building, lovely decor, friendly and helpful staff. We stayed for 2 nights - our room was stunning and spotlessly clean. Food in the restaurant was delicious...we'll definitely be back!

Lovely, family run place where we received a very warm welcome from the staff especially Jonathon who showed us to our room. We recently enjoyed our second visit here, but this was the first time we have stayed at the pub. Our room 'The Peacocks' was beautiful with the perfect blend of character and luxury. Dinner was delicious as well was the breakfast. We will be back! 👍🏼

Lovely Sunday lunch - very well presented and the banofee pie was gorgeous. Nice staff too!!

I joy to walk into a pub with a cosy and warm vibe. Made welcome as if visiting friends....lovely meal....proper napkins...and lovely big wine glasses. Sometimes it's the little touches that make it a special place. We will be back.

Enjoyed a lovely ale and glass of wine with my lovely wife here yesterday. Lovely atmosphere and really quaint. Would recommend for anyone wanting to put there feet up after enjoying Banbury, while we didn't eat the food looked very nicely presented and everyone seemed happy.

Dropped in basically just passing and thought it looked interesting- what a brilliant surprise! The staff were lovely and the food was delicious! Two thumbs up from these Australian travellers! So nice we will go back again 🙂

Had a lovely one night stay in a beautiful room for my birthday, sandwiches were very yummy and the breakfast was great, the staff were helpful and polite

Really relaxed atmosphere!

A relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly staff. A nice place to chill out on a Friday evening after you have finished work for the week.

This was our 2nd visit. The 1st visit was simply perfect great accommodation and fantastic food could not fault it.

This time however it all changed.

The accommodation was good however the evening meal went down hill.

Having ordered fillet steak I advised that We did not want any blood.

The steaks arrived and cutting into them they were blue.

These were sent back and re cooked but again they were still not cooked inside still near blue.

The waitress asked if we wanted to change what we had ordered. I asked for another steak, to be cooked so there was no blood.

Another steak arrived along with a change of menu for my wife.

Her chicken was pink and the potato was not fully cooked, my steak again was not cooked, again as soon as the steak was cut into you could see it had not been cooked, still blue and still bloody.

Both meals were returned and we went without.

We were having a family meal for 4 which was totally ruined.

It’s sad as we were looking forward to the same level of service and food as our 1st visit.
