Q&A with The Tudor Tours and thank you for my engagement good wishes
I have just proposed to my girlfriend Bethany in the very room Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn stayed for 10 days in 1535 ๐ she said yes!! Thornbury Castle is probably the most beautiful place I've ever stayed!
Hello from Thornbury Castle
Had the pleasure of being in the presence of my favourite blonde lady this evening...the lovely Lucy Worsley ๐ she said to me I could be the young Henry VIII
Today I've received my portrait and I love it! It's really captured my Tudor persona โ๏ธ๐ค thank you to Ste Morris for painting it for me! My beard and moustache were longer when this was done as you can see ๐ง๐ผ
If one photo can sum up Gloucester cathedral this would be it ๐ although not Tudor, the cloisters has found itself the backdrop of many a Tudor film or TV programme. Most recently you would have seen it in the new Mary Queen of Scots film, but previous years shows such as Wolf Hall, the White Princess and David Starkey documentaries ๐ค Gloucester is undoubtedly one of the UK's finest cathedrals!
Hello everyone ๐คโ๏ธ I have been very quiet recently due to my girlfriend having major surgery but I'm back! My question and answer video I promised weeks ago will be uploaded this week ๐ thanks for all your support!
May 19th 1536 Queen Anne Boleyn was executed on Tower Green. ๐
Anne was buried in the Tower's chapel of St Peter ad Vincula without any memorial. Anne's remains were discovered in 1876 and now under this marble (pic below). If you look at the marble you'll see her name and coat of arms โ๏ธ
Channeling my inner Tudor! Tonight is a time of reflection, what must have been going through Anne Boleyn's mind the night before her execution? โ๏ธ๐๐ธ๐ป
#OTD On this day in 1536 5 men were executed on Tower Hill!

Unfortunately we know how this ends โ๏ธ Hever castle currently have on display 2 dresses worn by Genevieve Bujold in the film Anne of a thousand days ๐ฅ which celebrates 50yrs this year! I think you'll agree these are stunning ๐

If the Tudors had Snapchat ๐ I thought for a bit of fun I would I would see what some famous faces would look like! Who's the prettiest? Henry VIII is definitely a man in drag haha
We are days away from the 483 anniversary of Anne Boleyn's execution โ๏ธ over the years we have seen many TV shows and Films with varying portrayals of Anne! Some good some bad ๐๐ Who is your favourite and why?
Cardinal Wolsey's Closet at Hampton Court Palace is the only private room that survives from his palace. I've been to many Tudor related buildings but there is something absolutely stunning about this room! I've been lucky enough to spend 15 minutes in this room on my own letting my imagination take me back into Tudor England โ๏ธ๐ The ceiling is very ornate and around the border of the room is a religious painting showing the story from the last supper to the resurrection ๐ The portrait of Henry VIII in this room is said to be one of very few paintings painted whilst he was still alive!
All over Britain these ruins are a stark reminder of the reformation, with Henry VIII taking back control from the Catholic Church in an act of nationalisation... 'Dissolution of the Monasteries' 1536-1541 โช๐
Monastic land and buildings were confiscated and sold off to families who sympathised with Henryโs break from Rome. By 1540 monasteries were being dismantled at a rate of fifty a month. ๐ฎ
Did you know the nursery rhyme 'little Jack Horner' is believed to be connected ...to the dissolution?
Below are Fountains abbey, Tintern abbey and Glastonbury abbey
