We enjoyed a fabulous Sunday afternoon at the Unicorn. Friendly helpful staff and a relaxed family atmosphere. My children really enjoyed the Pizza making party. With the variety of pizza toppings on offer, they made deliciously tasty pizzas!

Took a party of about 30 back to The Unicorn, after a Charity event on Saturday, Stuart had reserved an area for us and decorated the surroundings. The kids loved the pizza and chips in their separate boxes, So glad this is MY local, cheers guys

Superb food, excellent service and great value for money. We had a large family get together here and decided to go for the buffet option. Stuart that manager was incredibly helpful throughout the whole booking process and kindly put our group in a private section of the venue. We had vegetarians and vegans in our group and all said they were very impressed with not only the quality of the food but also the variety on offer. There were so many options for all of us to eat and everyone said how much the loved the food, venue and excellent service.

My family and friends family came for a meal yesterday evening (Saturday 31st March) we all had superb meals that were full of flavour and served in a timely manner. The staff were attentive and allowed chips to be omitted for salad. The bar staff friendly and efficient. Each time we’ve visited we always have impeccable service second to none. Highly recommend �

Lovely meal on Sunday for my dads 50th, there was 9 adults and 4 children. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Food all arrived at same time and all tasted delicious. Highly recommend.

I think you've all done a great job today under challenging circumstances! It would have been so much easier to close the kitchen with limited supplies but you battled on. I hope everyone who got fed there today appreciates it!

Had chicken wings with hot sauce and couldn't finish them or all the chips - massive portions � Really friendly staff

A group of us turned up at the unicorn after playing in the snow, and it was lovely and warm with the fire on, and Stuart made us all feel at home. The food came really quickly which was great as the children were all hungry after the snow. It's a lovely family pub and great staff!

Well after last visit this meal a lot better. Lovely Sunday roast meat tender and tasty. Stud dog bobby loved his bowl of scrapes thank you the unicorn x

The staff were helpful and courteous. We waited about 30mins for our meal which is acceptable as it was Father's Day the food was cooked to our liking. We would go again.

I used to go when my husband was alive,but not been now for at least 4years,so can't comment,

The staff were great. It was just some of the food was out of stock...etc eg no lasagne again. And certain desert as well. What we did have for main course was ok the steak ale pie. It was lacking in meat. But apart from that it was ok.

The food was a bit haphazard no tartar sauce with fish finger sandwich, hallumi salads no Bulgaria wheat or tortillas and mushy peas instead of garden peas but tasted ok

Nice meal if it had been hot the starter was really hot disgusted in the children's meal ok for a 2 or 3 year's old but not enough for a 9 year old daughter

Typical pub grub. Starters were still frozen inside. Service was pretty shoddy!! Won't be going back in a hurry!!!

Food left a lot to be desired. Two adults three children. Severely overcooked chicken thank God for the gravy. Husband's steak was supposed to be medium it could have walked off the plate. Lady behind the bar was lovely and helpful.

What a disappointment! We've eaten here before several times although not for about a year and it's certainly gone downhill in that time! The waiters and waitresses and bar staff were friendly and polite but the food wasn't pleasant. I ordered a blazing burger (chicken) it was dry and the there was no spice or sauce on it at all, the onion rings and the chips were cold. One person had pulled pork and the portion was tiny and certainly not worth the £9.99 price tag - so tiny I questioned if the portion was correct - we were bought more but the whole bowl was fat!

Another had a burger with bacon and mac and cheese in, again the burger was dry and the bacon was more fat than meat. My daughter had a pizza from the bigger kids menu which she seemed to enjoy although her side dish was bought out 5 minutes after the rest of the food. I'm so disappointed as we have always had great meals before and will not be returning . ********* edit :



I spoke to Jade after writing this review and tonight i took my children back to try again - I have to say a big thank you . The food was wonderful, thank you so much Jade for taking the time to speak to me when I left the previous review and for putting things right. We left very happy indeed �

VERY slow and bad service. food portions are unbelievably small. also rude waitress!

The waitress asked if our table of 8 wanted our food altogether and 2 of us had eaten before the rest of the food was served 30 minutes after! They couldn't do a mixed grill for some reason and no bacon for the hunters chicken. The hunters chicken was tiny and had no hunters chicken sauce with it! Waited over an hour for food and it wasn't even busy! Not sure why pubs offer decent food on the menu but it's schiaparelli poor when you get it!

Myself and a friend went in for a catch up today and ordered some lunch.

Being a vegetarian I ordered a soya veggie burger with fries and a refillable drink

Our food was bought out and as I had a crying baby I didn't have time to put a lot of focus on my food. So I started eating the burger and my chips. Once I had eaten half of it the Assistant Manager came out to tell me the chef had got the my burger mixed up with someone else's and given me a beef burger. As you can imagine I was horrified. The Assistant Manager took the food away and apologised but an apology doesn't really resolve the fact that I as a vegetarian had eaten beef. I felt physically sick. She refunded exactly £8.99 to me. Wouldn't goodwill be to refund the drink as well?

One of her new members of staff then bought me another meal with a veggie burger but I couldn't even bring myself to eat the burger in case there was another mistake.

I was disappointed that the Assistant Manager couldn't even bring the replacement meal out herself.

She did go on to bring me a voucher for 2 main meals and drinks at the pub.

Why would I go there again when they may give me meat again.



This is the my 3rd visit this year and every time we have had issues.

First time we waited 1 hour between starters and mains and even then everyones mains were bought out at different times.



The second time we had a Sunday roast and the food was cold and the roast potatoes were burnt.



Then finally this time a vegetarian gets served beef.



I live on the same street as the pub but I will not be going there again and would rather go elsewhere. I will also catch up with my mummy friends in other places.

I would have given it a nought if that was an option, think we were the only people in for lunch but still waited and was ignored most if the time , my meal was yuk and my friends chicken was over cooked so it was so tough , won't be rushing back anytime soon! .

Food was late coming out then our orders where all wrong then they missed 2 meal so they had to wait longer for it pudding came and I had to leave mine it was burnt plates all over table very under staff a friend fell in bathroom and hurt herself
