The Village Nursery,Shenington

Today the children met Charlotte who is our tennis coach. They practised good hand eye co-ordination batting the ball over the net. They demonstrated good turn taking skills and were also very good at helping to tidy away afterwards. We look forward to learning more new skills next Thursday.

Happy St. George's Day

Rui had a lovely time celebrating his 4th birthday at nursery with all his friends. Everyone enjoyed wearing party hats, playing with balloons, tucking into pizza and a cookie monster cake which his mummy made. We also decorated gingerbread men to take home. Each child gets to decorate their initial on their birthday. Rui had fun deciding how to decorate his letter R.

This week the children have been doing self portraits by looking in a mirror and talking about what colour their hair and eyes are then painting what they see onto the mirror.

Today we have been looking at sea life, exploring different textures and looking at a fictional story about a whale. During our play and discovery we had fact books about the things you may find at the beach. We also had a book about the seahorses life cycle. We hope you all have a lovely weekend.

The children really enjoyed expressing themselves through rhythm and rhyme with Rose. We travelled all around the room, singing with props and instruments.

Today the children really enjoyed making hats for Red Nose Day!

This week we have been mark making with tennis balls and paint outside, role playing Zog the Dragon, and today looking at the ice formation on the trees

We are very pleased to say that Louisa will be the newest member of our team starting next week. You may already know Louisa as Rui's mother but has previously had a lot of experience working in nursery's as a Level 3 practitioner.
