About The Waiting Room
An oasis of calm in the centre of Whitby. We have cask and craft beers, wines and ciders in a pub where people meet, talk and have a good time.
We don't have any TVs or music and don't sell spirits or cheap lagers.
Dogs welcome. Children over 14 only
The Waiting Room Description
We are trying to create what a good pub was in the not too distant past. To this end, we encourage a convivial atmosphere where conversation takes over from electronics, people enjoy each others company and the drink provided is of a high standard.
We also sell good wines, ciders and soft drinks as it isn't all about the beer!
Please note, we do not sell lager or spirits and children under 14 are not allowed in The Waiting Room.

The Waiting Room would like to say a big CONGRATULATIONS! to the happy couple Viv and Tim on their recent marriage and CONGRATULATIONS! to Roger from Mayfayre Cider on winning CAMRA Cider of the Year at the Reading Beer and Cider Festival yesterday.
To celebrate we will be open tomorrow, Bank Holiday Monday between 2pm and 9pm. Why not join us!

We are back!

Just to let you know that for the next few weeks we will be opening at 2pm on Saturday and Sunday. We will be closed from Monday February 11th for refurbishment/holiday. We will reopen on Thursday 28th with another great selection of real ales and ciders. See you soon!

Just so you know.....
One year ago today we spent our first evening behind the bar! We would like to say a massive 'Thank You' to all our customers, friends and suppliers for their continued support over the past 12 months and hope to see many of you over the festive period....Merry Christmas to you all!
Apologies, we will be closed Wednesday 12th December and will re-open on Thursday 13th at 4.30pm.
Don't forget we are open until 9pm tomorrow, Sunday 9th and are happy to welcome the fantastic Men of Staithes fishermens' choir at 6pm..real ales, ciders, folk songs and christmas carols.....see you there!
