Wonderful experience. Being a coeliac I get nervous eating out, as cross contamination can & has ruined other eating out adventures (not to mention the rest of the evening). Staff were polite & helpful. Food was delicious (gluten free fish & chips) and I've not been accidentally "glutened". The icing on the cake for me was the gluten free beer. I've not had a pint of beer in a pub since my diagnosis (5years). Would definitely eat there again.

Absolutely perfect, and luxurious surroundings. Our friendly waiter was Sassy Pants! Great place for any occasion, fine dining, highly recommended xx

We had our wedding dinner for 27 at The Walrus and it couldn’t have been better. The food an drink was amazing, the service great and the place itself is beautiful. They were very kind and accommodating, letting us deliver decorations and cakes in the morning and then setting them out for us before we arrived. We didn’t even discuss the music but what they played was exactly what we would have wanted. We would highly recommend The Walrus to anyone not just because of the professionalism but also because of their kindness towards us, not to mention the quality of the food!

The Supper Club Vegan evening was amazing. The food and wine was delicious. Lovely atmosphere, great staff. Well done guys �

Spent New Year's Eve here for White Mink: Black Cotton and literally felt like we had taken a step back in time to the 1920s. Found the staff and also other guests to be really friendly and the venue itself is beautiful; it really did feel like being in a movie set. The food was excellent, the dining area very atmospheric and festive. The bands that performed were fantastic and we had a perfect NYE. Thank you The Walrus, we hope you put on more nights like this, but even if not we will come back and visit you again soon.

My son takes me out regularly for roasts.And the one thing that spoils it for me is the vegetables.well the lamb was lovely and yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes were wonderful.but the vegetables were amazing cooked to perfection.lovely place will be back.staff were friendly and helpful.😊

Lovely staff, such a nice atmosphere .. my idea of what a proper pub should be with delicious good value food!

Looks like a normal pub on the outside but on the inside this place is a castle! Top sounding music venue in the basement, the most oppulant dining room you'll ever see in a pub on 1st floor and then the next two floors is an open air court yard that you could fit a whole other pub in!



Basically this place blew me away. Good beer.

Just had a bloody lovely roast dinner at the Walrus. They were very busy but we got served with food within about 15 mins and the food was amazing. All the staff were very attentive and friendly too. Keep up the good work !

Fantastic Roasts; one of the best I have ever had. Lovely, tasty pork belly and a decent sized portion too with plenty of meat. All ingredients were of a high quality and staff were friendly and accomodating. Great selection of drinks too, would totally recommend!

10/10 for men’s toilets. Lovely, clean, stylish black tiles. Fluffy carpeted stairs. Haven’t tried the WiFi but assume it’s good. The decor is so good in fact that I didn’t feel the need to log in to my Facebook profile. Beautiful smoking area, may as well be inside.



Also I feel like every pub should be called the walrus.

I like a burger cooked rare, but when it is, it really needs to be rested before it's put on the plate. The result was a bloody plate and a soggy bun. Not good.



Pub itself was great, and MASSIVE! The old Smugglers is barely recognisable. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere buzzing; just eat somewhere else...

First visit to the walrus and was genuinely quite excited.It was fairly quiet for a Sunday afternoon and bearing this in mind I was slightly disappointed to not be acknowledged by any member of staff! I ordered a gin and tonic and the member of staff poured the entire bottle of tonic into my glass and thus drowning the gin and forcing me to order another shot of gin (at £4 a shot I hasten to add) maybe this was a ploy!! The said member of staff then told me that they had cucumber for the Hendricks but she couldn't find a knife to cut it with? We entered the dining area and were greeted by a lovely member of staff who showed us to our table,but informed us that they had run out of beef (disappointment again 😞 ) we ordered the lamb it was delicious ,and plenty of it! All in all a mixed experience and hopefully the next time i return it will be one for the better! 😊
