I have brought my two elderly parents who both have Alzheimer’s for the last 3 weekends - they absolutely love the place. All of the staff we have encountered have been so helpful and just lovely. The food has been fine too and I would definitely recommend to family and friends.

First visit since it reopened as the Wentworth, we WILL be back again, my hubby & i had the full rack of ribs.....OMG....well worth the money, our daughter had the chicken tikka & said it was lovely & filling, we sat awhile before ordering puddings, again OMG....no words to explain but very filling.

The staff are lovely & fantastic, the restaurant is brighter & feels roomier than before.

Highly recommended

We went on Saturday night for my husbands birthday Short notice..20 mins before arrival they managed to get 14 of us booked in. I cannot fault the food at all it was lovely but one of our party had ordered extra chips and garlic bread & as it didn't come out with his food he went to ask the manager where it was..her reply was "do u really need them" he said yes I've paid extra for them, when she brought them she never said a word, no apology no nothing, put them on the table n walked away. The rest of the staff were great very pleasant and friendly

We had breakfast here on 25th April 2018. I have to say that we've had better service. There was no greeting from the one member of staff we saw. We went and sat at a table set for breakfast. The staff member on duty spoke abruptly to us saying "have you pre booked breakfast?" No good morning or other friendly greeting. She was very grumpy. There was no explanation as to what we were expected to do, where the tea, coffee etc was and if we were to serve ourselves or what we were supposed to do. This was our first visit there. After waiting at least 10 minutes other members of staff started to appear and we were approached by a smiling cheerful lady who took our order. She was polite and helpful. Can't remember her name though! The only other thing was my quorn sausage was so overcooked I couldn't cut it! Replacement requested and it was perfectly cooked as were the poached eggs. After a not very nice start, the service did improve.

The staff were friendly last night and couldn't help us enough as my little boy fell ill and was sick everywhere... the food was very nice too .... BUT the manager s who was on last night was very rude my mate had ordered extra chips and garlic bread and ask her where it was as it hadn't come out her reply was well do you really want it ...well yes when we have paid for it ... and when I asked for £5 coins she just looked at me with disgust and just said it's about time they all left .... well sorry but I don't think I will be going back after her behaviour we spent a lot of money as there were 14 of us ......

Ate here while staying at the premier inn where we did enjoy the evening food but the Sunday lunch was a massive let down. Potato tasted like it was that smash stuff. Basic veg vice. Had much better elsewhere for the same price of £9.99 per head carvery. Not worth the price. Staff lovely and friendly.

User

1st time visiting food was good but 50 minutes wait for it when the place was not busy is not acceptable. God knows how long you have to wait it it was busy.

User

The food was very dry we had the chip shop buffet for 749 each I don't think we will be going again we went for our grandsons birthday he loved the play area so that's something unfortunately you had to pay separately for it which I thought was crap don't think you sould have to pay when your eating there

User

Really need more staff. Hard to get served at the bar. Nearly walked out, several couples did. Doesn't seem to be the capacity to get drink at bar without lining up in food que. The kind of place u only buy one drink

User

Had to wait for roast potatoes & veg filling up so everything else on plate was cold before we even sat down. (Carvery) maybe more staff needed on Carvery !

Went to order desserts & came back to find table had been cleared including drinks !

Asked for clean glasses as the women cleaning had had her fingers in them. She did bring clean ones !!

Carvery not worth the money !!

User

Awful food but great for kids under cooked and cold which was taken back and they 're did the meal but v disappointed with the food one person on at the bar so very slow

User

We went last night for a birthday meal. The wait was nearly an hour in which time one of the waitresses brought over the wrong order. She even asked us if we were sure the food wasn't ours. When the food did arrive it looked unappealing and unappetising. The salad resembled mixed leaves from a bag with a few bits of cucumber and tomato. The chips looked like they had been warmed up and everything was just dry. It was so much better as taybarns. The quality of the food was much better too. I was disappointed as this place has always been good in the past. Customer service, quality of the food and presentation all needs work to improve this place.

User

Used to be known as Taybarns and visited many times when it was. Went to this new idea of a Brewers Fayre last Sunday and would definitely not recommend. Had mixed grill and looked nothing like advertised on the menu. Steak was overdone when asked for medium, sausage was burned and the peas/mushrooms were tinned served with oven chips. The staff looked as though they needed a good nights sleep to get them motivated for service. Was going to have the carvery but the choice of veggies was nondescript and meats looked dry. Desserts were a farce and had to wait 30 minutes before a caramel apple betty turned up with a tablespoon of custard on it. Demanded more custard and had to wait a further 10 mins for a small jug of it that warmed up the very small portion of apple betty that had by then gone cold. In total the bill came to just over £60 for 3 of us (with drinks) and thought it was a real rip off for a Sunday dinner. In future we will be attending a Crown Carvery on Sundays where the service is better and the quality of food is superior to this place that is called The Wentworth (detention Centre).run by prison staff with naff food,

Thanks for serving my three year old daughter a raw burger, you may have apologised but made me feel like I was after freebies when you asked me what I thought you should do about it you didn't even have the decency to come to our table, I had to come to see the manager twice, crap food, Mardy arse bar staff, one of which said the same happened last week, sat with dirty plates for an hour after eating......... disgusting!!!!

User

Stopped for lunch yesterday and a few items we wanted for lunch were unavailable (even though stated new on the menu) one of us had a platter, it was over cooked and dried out and the chicken was rubbery and looked like been left for days. The smothered chicken was not smothered a tiny bit of cheese and uncooked bacon. All main courses arrived at different times. Then desserts arrived while we still had dirty plates on the table along with with dirty spoons for the desserts. I made a complaint about the food and the waitress completely ignored me. Dirty cutlery under the table and rude staff we will not be returning.

User

Only got as far as parking in the car park, when we were approached by a man telling us to move as they would be cutting the hedges ets after dinner. They were obviously only cutting the 2ft of hedge where my car was parked as all the other spaces around me were occupied! I did as I was asked, and moved, straight out of the car park and went to The Red Lion up the road, where we had fantastic meals, and a great time for my daughters birthday. I'm really glad it happened now after reading reviews on here, needless to say, we won't be giving it another try!

User

If it was possible to give zero I would! Food = crap, then went in the play area (which was empty) with my 2 year old and asked to get out as im an adult, so then my son wouldn’t play as he won’t go in on his own! Absolute joke of a place. Staff always miserable. Won’t ever return!

User

Food was diabolical, cold, wrong orders, missing items, when we wanted the things correcting staff were rude! Not one smile off A single staff member, The woman who seemed to be a manager walked past our table slating other guests off, dirty looking every table, staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing.

Rude staff

Bad food

Poor management

Over priced crap!!!

Only thing that was good was the bloody coffee and that came out of a machine!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!

User

Been to the wentworth a few times now and every single time it seems to get worse, today we ordered two burger meals and a kids meal all the chips was warm, the burgers was freezing and hard.. replaced ones was exactly the same.. complained online to brewers fair and never even got a reply back which is a real shame as the brewers fair in Wombwell is lovely... anyone coming to the wentworth.. save your money it’s shite!!!
