Blimey!!! When you have had as many great nights as we have you have to go some even to get a "Great Night" rating... Well you all certainly did that last night.
Last night was simply brilliant... a whirlwind of wonderful people, hugs, laughter, tears, laughter, banter and hugs. There was also a lot of hugging going on.
... So much hugging, in fact, that I only managed to down four beers - and one of them was after hours!
On the one hand I am sorry that I did not get the time I wanted with you all individually... on the other hand I would not have swapped that evening of sensory overload for a gold pig.
If anyone needed evidence of why the Sheaf has been such a brilliant and amazing place to work, play and - for us - bring up a family, they had only to pop in and meet you all last night :)
I am overwhelmed and deeply happy that I know you all.
We were overwhelmed and deeply happy that we have been able to have you in our lives and our family.
Thank you
Ben xxxx

And so the final countdown begins.. we are looking forward the seeing some familiar faces this weekend as we celebrate the end of the Vidler's time at the Sheaf. We will continue to be open up to and including Wednesday 10th to see if we can't polish off the rest of the beer, as well as our standard free pool on Monday and Wednesday from 7pm. I'd like to say another huge thank you to everyone, customers and staff alike, for making our time at the Sheaf so special. See you all at the weekend!

It is 23 years since Mrs Vidler and myself took on the Wheatsheaf.... and what a wonderful couple of decades it has been. We have met, served and worked with so many fantastic and brilliant people ... our lives have been more wonderful and colorful because of you.
The Wheatsheaf is where we started a family, watching them grow up to become beautiful young people. Our kids have now also had the opportunity to meet, serve and work with many of you and their lives have been enr...iched by you too.
However, all good things must come to an end, and we have come to the end of our time at the Wheatsheaf.
Our last weekend as Landlord and Landlady will be Friday 5th and Saturday 6th September.
Tracey and I will be in The 'Sheaf on that Friday and Saturday night for laughter and beer. It would be lovely to see you if you are around and about.
The Vidler team would like to say a huge thank you to all the customers and staff who have, together, made our lives such great fun.
You are all bloody amazing :-) xxx
