Some of our staff were fortunate enough to experience a Cornish Tour with Keith last week , highly recommended for that one to one look around Cornwall. Keith is knowledgable and friendly ensuring you see The Real Cornwall and some sights that are off the beaten track with tasty and picturesque pit stops along the way. Www.keithscornishtours.com

We stayed for one night. The hotel was lovely and welcoming. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was fabulous. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had a cooked breakfast before we left we was great all local produce. Would definitely recommend The White Hart can't wait to go back for a longer stay.

User

We only had an hour train ride from Plymouth for our weekend break! Perfect location 5 min walk from St Austell station. We stayed 2 night's on a groupon deal. Absolutely fantastic. Lovely 2 course dinner including wine on one night. Food menu in restaurant and bar Very good too. Very Friendly welcome at reception in our arrival. Friendly staff throughout the hotel. Rooms very comfortable. Tidy and spotlessly clean. Will definately return. Highly Recommend. Thank you for having us!

User

We have just been blown away by the staff on shift tonight. Wow- best customer service we've received anywhere; in a very long time. I wish we'd taken the staff names- an absolute credit to your company! Thanks for making my Dad's 60th really special пњљ

User

We absolutely loved our stay, great staff - extremely helpful and professional! Proper food, great cocktails, Dog friendly (Alfie very much enjoyed himself!). Perfect place to stay if you're visiting the Eden project plus loads of other things nearby too. Would recommend!

User

Visited this very fine establishment for a short break to celebrate my brothers 60th birthday.

While St.Austell itself, I'm sorry to say, hasn't got very much to write home about, this hotel is exemplary and more than makes up for the lacking in its immediate location.

Delightful and unfussily appointed rooms, Vi-Spring beds, Axminster carpets, complentary dressing gowns & slippers, his & her sink (Room 2)& car park facility (just watch the road!!). Charming, generous & friendly patrons and employees and a chef who is full of good surprises. As a matter of fact the cuisine is "dam fine" dining.

As a base to explore Cornwall's many delights I will heartily recommend this fine Hotel to anyone who is interested.

User

Truly outstanding meal, top quality ! at a reasonable price. My compliments to the chef , the home made burger, chips , and onion rings were out of this world. My compliments to the chef , thank you for a truly outstanding meal

User

Popped in for a couple of drinks before a meal out with friends. Staff very friendly and helpful. There were alot of us & a member of staff helped us with extra seats and moved a table so we could sit together. Very accommodating. Lady bar person was really friendly and polite. It was very busy and had a lovely atmosphere. Over all a lovely hour spent with friends thank u пњљ

User

Me and my husband came down to St Austell for our first wedding anniversary and booked into The White Hart as it had the best price for what we wanted. And I'm so glad we did!

The hotel is lovely, the food is fantastic with massive portion sizes and brilliant prices, our room was beautiful and peaceful, but most of all the staff were fantastic, especially Greg and the lady who served us in the restaurant ( I'm so sorry but I didn't catch her name пњљ) they couldn't do enough for us and were so happy to help and always smiling! Thank you... you made our stay that much more enjoyable. We would most definitely come back xxxx

User

I liked the fact that this is a very friendly place and the staff are very welcoming when myself and my hubby came in for a drink. The only thing is that doesn't get the attention it deserves because of the area that it is in!!

User

Had a meal in the bar area, staff were great, food was excellent, can highly recommend! We currently staying in a B&B in St Austell and have been to the White Hart 3 times so far as we liked it so much, very likely to go again on our last day here

User

Called yesterday for lunch

Very friendly staff And the food was delicious

The fish pie was so fresh and hot One of the best I've ever had Hubby enjoyed his pie also Definitely would recommend to any one who is visiting x

User

Arrived after a very long, wet and windy drive to be greeted by a very helpful young man, a credit to the hotel. We were given room 18 which we highly recommend. It was a newly furnished suite on the ground floor. Beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The hotel was very welcoming, the food was excellent and reasonably priced and the bar staff very friendly. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend the hotel

User

Amazing hotel. Our Christmas present from our children. (Groupon, no hidden extras... all explained at point of service) Food

amazing. Staff superb. Thoroughly recommend it. At would stay again.

It is an old building built on a hill so lots of stairs. But room and corridors newly painted and comfortable,, restaurant was gorgeous,

User

We stayed here on a groupon deal. We had our first night meal included, it was really nicely presented and delicious. The staff couldnt have been more helpful and very pleasant. The actual hotell itself was cosy and welcoming, lovely dining room boutique style. Separate breakfast room too. My only criticism would have to be the dingy lighting in bedroom! The bed was comfy... the bathroom beautifully warm with a great shower. Trying to do my make-up and hair in front of bedroom mirror was a nightmare..the lighting wasn't great. Altogether, a really pleasant hotel to stay in, would definitely recommend it.

User

We agree with all the positive comments; only negative is the violent creaking floors, it really sounds like the folk above are in your room. Get to the car park early as is quickly fills up. Would recommend and would return.

User

Only stayed for 1 night , lovely helpful staff ( though bar man was a little abrupt ) , lovely food , had a family room which was huge , consisted of 2 rooms , overall a lovely hotel and highly recommended, just 2 things ,

Maybe put some signs on the stairs to the rooms , lots of little stair cases , quite confusing ...as stated we had a huge lovely room with the smallest tv I have ever seen пњљ. Impossible to watch from the bed as couldn't see the screen .

Also ( though not fault of the hotel , it is a holiday resort ) it was noisy outside on a Saturday night . We were at the front , not sure if it would be the same in a back room .

User

Lovely hotel, friendly staff and good food. Service at breakfast was poor - 2 rooms and only one member of staff who spent most of his time looking after the people in the other room, otherwise great. Suggest you have a member of staff covering each room. Room lovely and bar food and service good.

User

Was assured there would be gluten free gravy and Yorkshire puds were given a gravy boat with parsley and hot water in it as a substitute for gravy would you put on your dinner? Also potatoes were like rocks and swimming in gravy. First time I've taken my parents very disappointed! Normally very good what went wrong?

User

Not keen on this hotel, extremely dimly lit and dated room, (candles would be brighter). The lightbulb was a tiny little thing, (as a sparky I'd of put a bright energy saver lamp in there myself). Bathroom had mould down the tiles and a dirty faint smell of ammonia.

The whole 3 days/nights I was there, the tea bags in my room were never topped up so went without for the duration of my stay both morning and night, (only fruit teas were there). - & no I'm not going to ask for something so basic and easy to stock up on (I like to see how attentive the staff are).

Each morning early, a big fan/machine would start up right outside the bedroom window like a car engine running.

And I didn't find the place particularly welcoming.

I stay in many hotels, and although not awful, it certainly sits at the bottom of the choices I have made in the past of hotels.
