The White Horse

We visited this little gem while boating on the Broads. We were warmly welcomed by friendly and attentive staff, who coped well with our 3 active children and large dog.
A roaring log fire, fine ale and superb cuisine. My halloumi and roast pepper burger was utterly amazing!

We thought we would try this pub for food as it's quite local to us. It did not disappoint. The service was pleasant, maybe not perfect but it was pleasant. The beer was really good and the food was fantastic! No frozen pub chips here, just double cooked fresh potato chips. The portion size was good and the price was reasonable. Definitely worth a visit and not far from the mooring at Upton if you are on the Broads.

We discovered this pub by a recommendation from a complete stranger in a morning coffee break. The next day we drove just beyond Acle to find it and have returned every time we are in the area to meet the family. The last occasion was a party of 11 celebrating my Mum's 100th birthday. We love it firstly because it is actually owned by the village. Everyone bought shares to prevent it being closed. It deserves to succeed. But sentimentality is not enough. It deserves to continue because it is a great pub. It is welcoming and obviously very popular. The staff is lovely. They will arrange rear access to help wheelchairs. The menu is excellent concentrating on well cooked fresh local ingredients. There is a good selection of real ales. Well worth a slight detour to find the village of Upton.

Food and staff are superb, felt very welcome and we ate here two days in a row as we enjoyed it so much. Gets very busy so it's best to book in advance. Lovely beer garden, and the location is also excellent in a small little village just a few minutes walk from the boat mooring. You don't want to miss out on this pub!

Superb food, good value, friendly and a lovely atmosphere. Follow the signs from the river - you won't be disappointed! Best pub we have visited in our 5 days
