The White Swan Hotel

I was married at the White Swan 3 years ago and this year I was a guest at a wedding there. I'm pleased to say that they are just as friendly and welcoming now as they were then. It is a beautiful building and while has a feeling of grandeur is also cosy and in places, intimate. We stayed the night and the room was clean and pleasant we didn't watch TV but there is one there if needed, a bath and shower as well as free WiFi. Not that Alnwick is particularly big but you are central to the town with the castle and gardens about 5 minutes walk (if that). I love the White Swan and can't recommend it enough. The staff are always accommodating. And if you didn't already know, the interior of the building uses the original wood panelling and flourishing from the sister ship to the Titanic, the Olympic

I booked this hotel for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. I had spoken to the Staff to make arrangements before our arrival and would point out that they went above and beyond my expectations. They made our stay extremely special by adding chocolate truffles for my wife and a beautiful hand written card that we were not expecting. Full marks for this hotel for a magical night. A massive thank you to all the staff. If I could mark this properly to my opinion for the smiles of joy they achieved I would mark them 15 out of 10. I cannot give these staff enough praise. The Olympic Resteraunt staff made an evening special and they work late into the evening and arrive early in the morning for breakfast service. They even helped out by taking some wonderful pictures for us to remember our evening.

Staff very friendly. If you have walking difficulties ask for a ground floor room as there are lots of stairs. Wi-fi is all right in reception area other wise it's hit and miss.

This hotel helped us at the last minute when we were let down by another hotel. It's a great choice for a stay in Northumberland and is convenient for many of the local attractions and facilities. It is now on our list of hotels for our walking holidays being also 'dog friendly'. Highly recommended.

Rooms were very clean, service was absolutely amazing, staff were all very very friendly and helpful, they were very willing to accommodate us having a dog, room had a little present for the dog, staff were happy to arrange for a balloon for my sisters birthday to be in the room, food was absolutely fantastic at dinner and breakfast - the lemon tart was possibly the best I've ever had. Only complaint was how warm it was in the rooms, which given that it had been a very warm day wasn't really a huge issue. Would definitely go back again

Clean and tidy. Polite staff. Could do with a little refurbishment but on the whole a nice stay

Went here for afternoon tea and a seperate meal. It was ok, but pretty basic compared to other venues. Staff by and large were very good. Due to the nature of an old building and rotating door it wasn't pram friendly, but that's fair enough. There are other signs that the venue needs modernisation and tlc, such as dated equipment and decor. All in all a reasonable location and experience but it could be a lot better.

This venue is in such an awesome location and has its charm, the staff are super helpful :) But judging on their Ceasar salads which was delivered to me (consisting of maximum three leafs of lettuce and sauce, maybe some traces of cheese) I would avoid eating there.

Didn't think the more expensive rooms were worth the extra and lots of noise from the road. Loved the Olympic room, worth staying just to see that.
