The White Thorn Inn Description
Hooray. . . we are open for business!
The White Thorn Inn has been given a tonne of much-needed TLC both inside and out. While works to the rear are finished we are unable to open the back door, and therefore there's no access to the beer garden /decking for the time being, and we have a limited capacity until then. Thanks v much for your patience while we iron out a few more creases.
The kitchen is opening soon, and we will post on this page when we have a firm date and can start taking bookings.
We've live music every Saturday night, and the odd session thrown in for good measure. We try and keep this page as up to date as possible so make sure you're following us and we'll keep you posted.
If you like us then we'd love it if you could give us a review. And if you've had a less-than-splendid experience please let us know so we can put things right for you. We are a new business and trying our best, but there are bound to be hiccups along the way and your feedback is really useful.

For over a decade the seven-strong, unstoppable Black Friday have been delivering their stomping, high energy home-brew of folk, Celtic and punk music across the lands of Cornwall, Devon and beyond.
Hailing the Cornish village of St Germans, Black Friday began their journey in their local pub in 2006. Their music has taken them across the the seas to Ireland and Europe gathering adventures and stories along the way.
With music influenced by their Celtic roots and Irish hero...es alongside catchy original songs, Black Friday will keep you dancing all night.

Happy 2019 to you all and thanks for making New Years Eve at the White Thorn such a great all night party. Special thanks to all the staff who worked so hard to keep everyone lubricated and to Shell Heidi for breaking into our resident teddy bear and bringing him to life at 5am in the morning. The funniest start to 2019 !!

Christmas Carols - Fri 21st Dec - 7.30pm
Come join us for some Christmas carols this Friday led by Fr. Simon Rundle whom last year conducted the carols so gracefully with pint of Jail Ale in one hand and words in the other :) A festive spectacle to remember !

Due to our high volumes of Christmas Dinners this week our weekly carvary is cancelled for this Sunday only but normal menu is available 12pm - 5pm and our resident Harp player will still be playing by the fire !!

What a great village pub with a great landlord and landlady who are doing everything to make the village pub the centre of the community
The White Thorn is a wonderful addition to our lovely village - a great landlord (Mike) who is full of ideas for making this the best pub in the district, friendly and efficient staff and a cozy ambience! A great place to meet your friends! I'm so glad I only live 5 minutes walk away.
Lovely atmosphere, great Guinness and although we didn't have time to sample the food it looked and smelled delicious. We'll definitely be back again, and again, and again, and again, and again .....
Lovely Lunch, very impressed with the Vegan choices on your menu and the use of paper straws! Food was excellent, my daughter devoured the Vegan Burger!!! ����
Just enjoyed our first Sunday lunch at the White Thorn.... lovely food and atmosphere.... just a pity I had to share my chocolate pudding with the kids... even after their free ice cream! We'll be back Michael and Liv. Lovely to see you both and doing such a great job with the place. Xx
Have loved this pub ever since our first gig there, but recently went for a Sunday Carvery and had one of the tastiest roasts I've ever had! Absolutely incredible potatoes and yorkshires, and the nutroast was out of this world! Wonderful service from Mike and the team as always. Highly recommend for food, drink and vibes :)

Fantastic opening night for a great pub in a beautiful area, with lovely bar staff, huge range of drinks, chocolate and marshmallow pizzas, sparkly toilet seats, and absolutely brilliant live music - what's not to love? Will definitely be back soon :)

Fantastic Sunday afternoon spent in The White Thorn pub, the atmosphere is warm, friendly and relaxing, the food was lush and the with the added bonus of late afternoon/early evening music we will definitely be visiting again!
Brilliant food , Brilliant land lord & land lady , your made felt welcome as soon as you enter the door . A cracking pub and a must to go to either have a drink or have a meal . RESPECT .
