Visited The Whitehills today for the first time in years. The food was excellent and the staff were super friendly! They were amazing with kids and really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We will definitely be returning! Thanks again!
My husband and I went for a bite to eat, excellent choice of food, very friendly and helpful staff. The food served quickly and efficiently. Definitely recommend
Lovely drinks and the food is lovely, Kristopher the bartender was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Great place for an afternoon or an evening meal or drinks
Just been for New Years Eve party. Absolutely fantastic. People complaining about the Whitehills staff and management need to get a life. The whole team are great and look after you. Always helpful and willing to go out of their way to help. Dont listen to reviews. Go and try it for yourself.
Great pub on the outskirts of Chester le street lovely staff food great Sunday lunches amazing but you must book as it's always full good selection of real ales
Good beer and food, nice place to meet
Food is of a very good standard for the price, wide variety of beers n lagers. Never had a bad meal. First year for xmas dinner family of 11 all happy and couldn’t fault it.
Food is excellant as is the service the staff are friendly and helpful lovely atmosphere and food is at a very reasonable price
As a family we had our xmas dinner here this year... I have to say it was lovely.. really nice food and really nice friendly staff... going to do it again next xmas
Lovely food, dog friendly. This was especially good for us as we had just been on a walk. We all had a platter to share then a main meal each to follow. I am only a small eater so a choice of lite bites on offer would be most helpful. All in all great experience.
Probably a great pub if you like beer and live locally, but if you want a nice meal I’d go elsewhere. Thankfully it was dimly lit, so I couldn’t quite see what I was eating which is probably just as well.
Overcooked ribs almost cremated dry chicken breast sasage terrible and to make things worse morons sat constantly swearing on next table when I had 2 little girls with me ! First and last visit ever!
Only live yards away from here but only come into at Christmas. Christmas eve it was busy but all the fridges were empty and staff were saying they were down to their last keg of coors. Beer is normally spot on but coors was tasteless and weak to me. Not saying it was tampered with but wasn't normal self. Christmas day, place was rammed fridges full and beer was ok. Would rather go to Durham or Chester Le street as I feel its better which is a shame because this place could be so much better.
Ive always loved the food from here and never had an issue.. but the past two times has really given us a downer on the place. Just the other week we got a telling off because the bairn had spilt some peas on the floor. I nipped to the toilet and my other half was putting the bairn into the pushchair and was then going to start picking up the mess. By then he’d been told off about how ridiculous it is.. my son is almost 2. Accidents happen. Then today. We booked a table to have our dinners with my grandparents, just to feel completely rushed. They wanted the table back bang on 1 o’clock. Again. With the bairn. Can’t rush his food.. myself also felt very uncomfortable the way we were being treated that I actually left half of my meal as I felt I would get into bother for eating my meal. Someone had also told a guy behind the bar not to serve my other half (only wanted some water cause it was really warm) because we had to leave. These few things have really made me change my mind about the place. First time I’ve ever had problems there which is a real shame as I’ve always loved it and I don’t live far so it’s local. I felt pressured. Would of said something whilst I was there but I’m also heavily pregnant and didn’t fancy any confrontation.
Good night and the singer can’t be faulted. Shame can’t say the same about some of the clientele especially one strange man who made myself and my wife feel uncomfortable. He was a real creep, I have visited this pub since the seventies, sadly spoilt by this person and his friends
Food is terrible, ad rather have beans on toast...some staff need a personality transplant
Booked for christmas lunch. Explained my situation. Was told yes that will be sorted. Arrive.stuck in a corner.2 tables in front were squeezed in,people couldnt get passed. It was a carvery not served to you. Food wasnt nice.awful .. Total sham!!
Over priced food & you dont get much for your money i got a steak & salad 8 little cubes of steak & a bit salad for £7/8 the steak was chewy & under done id asked for medium to well done wont be going back here again take our custom elsewhere in future very dissapointed
