The William Gladstone Description
The William Gladstone is located in a prime area of Liverpool’s city centre. Perfect for a quick bite to eat after shopping or a relaxing glass of wine after a hard day’s work. Being two minutes from the Liverpool ONE shopping centre, our location is convenient and we welcome children. We are just seconds away from the world-famous Mathew Street and are a brilliant start to a fabulous night out. We like to offer something for everyone, whether you want to book us for your parties or quiz nights. We try our best to provide the best.
All major sporting events are shown on our 10ft projector screen which is one of the largest in the city. The William Gladstone also plays an important role in the Mathew Street Festival - the largest annual free music festival in Europe.
Food and drink offers are available throughout the week and include the following:
* Two selected meals for £6. 95, all day, every day
* £2. 99 for selected meals all day Monday
* Free drink with selected meals (including pies, fish and chips and burgers)
* Bottles of house wine (Red, White and Rose) for only £5. 45
* Two-for-one on all cocktail pitchers before 8pm, all day, every day
* Jäger, Vodka, Skittle and Glitter 'Bombs' £2 each or four for £6
* Double up on selected spirits for just £1. 20, all day, ever day
Our party and functions area can accomodate any kind of event for up to 150 people and buffets packages range in price from £4. 45 to £6. 45 per head. The veggie version of fish and chips (battered halloumi)is gorgeous. Quick service, big portions, great value x
The staff were brilliant, Food is amazing especially the fish and chips. Lovely asmosphere, Good music. Always come here as prices are cheap and its our meeting place for when I meet up with childhood friends from Runcorn.
The food was top notch and the staff were very friendly. The place is decorated very well and clearly well looked after!
I love this place. We eat here on a regular basis when we visit Liverpool. Would highly recommend it
Came in to watch the match on sunday was busy but got served quickly,ordered food had the 5 sharers they were really good then had to have dessert ,Staff were friendly and happy great atmosphere
Breakfast £1.99 absolulty beautiful you can have a bigger breakfast for under £4.00 .good service ,friendly staff .best breakfast we have had in Liverpool would recommend this pub .Plus the Cavern is just over the road xx
A fine city centre pub,a great atmosphere with friendly clientele.The staff were also very friendly and mega/efficient. Overall, a brillint place to spend a wet Saturday afternoon and through into the evening.
Went there Monday and Tuesday for a meal and a drink. Very pleased with the food although the first choices for two of us jacket potatoes and lasagne were not available. The second choices came ok. We all had plenty and it was good quality food. Cheap food and cheap drinks. The second night was better all four of us got our first choice. The staff did not know where to charge our phones even though there were notices telling us we could. The second night we searched out the sockets for ourselves. The place is really handy for getting to the Cavern as it's just over the road. Will definitely go again and recommend.
The staff was very friendly and our drinks were prepared quickly and efficiently. It was well worth the price. We shall be returning when possible. We'll definitely recommend it.
Good food for the price nice pub but most of all great friendly staff who are on the ball I have noticed when I have been in before how good they are but we were in here Sunday for bit to eat and a drink after a bit of shopping we left and went to a other pub when we noticed we were missing are bags with shoes and £80 Jeans in we went back in to see if they had been handed in and the lovely staff had noticed them and put them away for us so would like to say a big thank you to them 😊
Came here two mornings on the trot .for a breakfast .it was a big breakfast .me and my partner lee both couldnt eat it all .and that says something .nice food .pleasant staff .�
The bar staff were helpful and polite but the food took time to come, they had run out of steak at 4pm we ordered steak at 5.10pm they never said anything and took the money then at 5.45pm they informed us that they had run out of steak at 4pm?? This is an amateur mistake they then took our new order and gave us change back that was 90p short also they didn't offer us a goodwill drink or gesture and the table of 16 people next to us got up and walked after waiting an 1 hour 39 minutes
Have to say the jugs of cocktails are a let down far too much ice you might as well order a jug of water because you can't taste anything else x

My mate had a pint of bitter it was quite cloudy and wasn't the best pint he's ever had

We were in there yesterday, both had fish n chips, paid the extra £1 each to get freshly battered fish, was very nice , no problems at all.. Two meals for £10 all good value...staff always friendly it can get busy in there, but hey ho it's a pub in a city centre!!
Was there Wednesday afternoon after a bit of shopping, tables with dirty plates and empty glasses. 15 min wait to be served at bar and staff walking up and down stairs with half a dozen of dirty glasses then going back up for more - idea 💡 take a tray or dishes washer basket collect more in one trip.
Returned Thursday morning to be told 30 min wait on breakfast order the deal muffin and drink got food eaten still no drink finally got coffee - not the best I would think about changing supplier.
More staff required on both visits there was 3 staff on in the morning girl turned fruit machines on and disappeared when she was clearly required to be on bar or cleaning tables
Ordered chicken and bacon cheese melt as soon as the food come to the table i could smell it didnt smell right. I cut the chicken in half and got a strong smell of the chicken being off wouldn't eat here again!.
Fish was very watery and tasteless no coffee beans couldn't have a coffee used to like it but not goin bk for food again
