Went here today with Lorna Simmons. Lovely pub/restaurant set in a lovely village. Thought the friendly welcome was because Lorna won their competition but no it was for every customer, which I found very refreshing. The food on offer for lunch was reasonably priced but much nicer than I had anticipated which makes the food prices better value, best cheesy garlic bread ever! A very enjoyable lunch had by both of us and now we know this place exists will be making a point of returning. Thanks for your hospitality �

We were there for dinner tonight 16/05/18.

1st class from start to finish. Every single member of staff was fantastic. Attentive waitresses, made to feel welcome and relaxed, nothing was too much bother for them.

The food was amazing. Piping hot and very tasty!

It was the perfect end to our holiday in the area!

We have recommended the Winged Spur to future guests staying at the cottage we have been at.

It doesn't get any better than this for a holiday to end on a high note!!!

We came for a meal with the grandchildren on Sunday. The staff were very welcoming and very efficient. The service was quick and the food was excellent. Portion sizes very generous and home cooked. NOT your average pub grub more like hotel and cruise standard. The price was very reasonable for what we had. Lovely surroundings clean and great food and service. Little touches like giving the children sweets at the end of the meal were nice. We will definitely be returning ***** 5 star rating

Tonight was our first visit with our 8 month old baby Daniel and it was great. Staff lovely and helpful and the food is great thanks we will be back.

Popped in last night for a quick bite to eat - hadn’t booked. Very good service, staff very pleasant and helpful. Food excellent (liver & onions and crusted fish). Good portion sizes, good quality and value for money.

Our 1st visit due to a recommendation by a friend.

You would not think that you were walking into a pub, it was bright, clean and very impressive.

We were greeted at the door by a friendly smart member of staff who showed us to our table. The tables and chairs are very modern, clean and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly, polite, smart and helpful to your needs. The food menu is easy to read and the prices are very very good. Our food arrived very well presented & hot, the best food we have ever had, the quality is very high to top restaurant standard and this is a pub.

Our best night out meal this year, well done and thank you to Helen (manager) and all your friendly staff, merry Christmas & we will be back in the new year.

I won the prize of a meal for 2, which I've always been cynical about these comment & share, so I was delighted. We booked to go for lunch last week. When we arrived we were greeted by the landlady who was lovely and constantly checked we had all we needed, and not just us but all the other customers too. We had a lovely 3 course lunch which was fresh and delicious. Lovely relaxed pub. Felt very comfortable here. Lunch menu is great value for money and evening menu had some nice dishes on offer too. Had a great lunch, thanks so much! Will be back again xx ����

I have Visited this pub several times since opening, The food is always outstanding & the portions are big (value for money). We decided to visit on Valentine's evening for a 3 course meal, the food was outstanding & nicely presented, the venue was also dressed lovely & the entertainment set the mood.

Fathers Day Sunday Lunch! Food was just perfect! The best salmon I’ve had for years I kid you not!

Service was lovely, I will be back again for sure & next time I’ll be having the candy floss gin �.

Came tonight to have a meal for my Birthday, out 1st time since it's new refurb, and it is fabulous!!!! Definitely deserves it's 5 star review. The place itself is gorgeous, light and airy but with a lovely warm feeling. The staff are fantastic, you definitely don't get the feeling that they're just passing the hours until their shift finishes, unlike some other places, they are friendly, chatty, helpful, attentive without being overbearing, everything you would want a server to be!! And, the food....... the food is perfect!! We had 4 different meals all cooked to perfection and delivered at the same time, and the steaks were cooked to exact requirements , the desserts are mouthwatering, you must definitely save room for them!!! Overall The Winged Spur provided the perfect ending to a fantastic day. Thank you for that. We will most definitely be back and recommending you to everyone x

Came to your pub tonight for my special birthday. As a table of 11 plus 3 babies we were recommended to pre-order our food, which we did, to avoid waiting too long. Every meal that came out was correct, piping hot and lovely food. The portion sizes are pretty big but that’s definitely not something we’d complain about! The staff were so welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Our waitress was fantastic and made such a fuss of the children. Thank you for making our night hassle free and thoroughly enjoyable ��

Went with my wife and son for lunch, very polite and lovely staff, food was brilliant, although asked for no tomato and came with tomato and also when meals came wasn’t asked if we wanted any sauces had to ask the bar staff for some, also no1 did a check back to see if our meals were ok, Other than that will be going again maybe for a evening meal. P.S. the Toffee cake was an absolutely amazing desert!

The spur has become very popular and the food most of the time is spot on. The service could be better at times though. Lately a little slow in waiting for serving at the bar and tables, friendly staff and it's great to have a village pub again.

Only popped in for a lunch time pint. Never been here before but was well impressed with what I saw.. Had a peek at menu and it looked very good. Shall be going back to eat there soon.

Food was excellent!!!!

Ran out of ice for drinks which was really disappointing. Wasn’t informed on ordering the drinks as I would have chosen something else. I was given a gin and tonic in a half glass with no garnish or ice. Was very unappealing 😯
