The first bottled bourbon, consumed legally during the prohibition era for 'medicinal purposes' and still produced by the founding family to this day. Old Forester has a heritage as rich as its taste, with caramel notes and delicate hints of citrus & spice, it also makes a particularly enjoyable accompaniment to chocolate. And so, discover a bottle, two faceted crystal rocks glasses and a box of our Dark Sea Salt Caramel Truffles in our exclusive Mayfair hamper.

Our #PrivateDiningRoom is elegantly designed to perfectly complement the restaurant with its dark wood lacquer, gold detailing and hints of Eastern exoticism, it is nevertheless discreetly hidden from view and is reached by its own private staircase.

Three friends and I arrived on sunday morning without a reservation. Although it was all booked, the staff was extremely helpful, and searched and finally offered us a place, right beside the door, with a great view of the magnificent room. The breakfast was delicious and the service was brilliant. Thank you very much, we cannot wait to come back.

They seem to be a victim of their own success. Seating is very cramped, I kept getting knocked in the back by the server attending to the table behind me. They took ages to come me and take our orders. Although service was always polite, they were just too busy to maintain good attention to the tables. Food was ok. We expected better. Ordered the beef tartare which was nice, mains were pork chop which was over cooked and dry on the inside, this was sent back, and the calves liver which was not even in the same galaxy as the one we had 3 nights previously at The Enterprise in Chelsea. Cheesecake for desert was ok, but only ok. All in all this place has great atmosphere, looks awesome but the food really lets them down. Don’t think I’ll be back.

My first visit. First impressions are really good. However a visit to the bar before dinner and the staff not knowing what a Manzanilla Sherry was despite being on the drinks list set the tone for the evening. It was served chilled but was terrible. Nothing like the Manzanillas I have tasted in Spain. I suspect it had been in their fridge for a while. We sat down for dinner I chose from the Veggie menu the Schnitzel. It was fairly average. The steamed sprouting broccoli had melted cheese on top! Why?

I didn’t have desert. I was disappointed by its averageness both in the service and food. I think it must be resting on its laurels. You can be taken away by the wonderful interior, the doorman and the clientele but strip all that away and it’s just average.

My wife kept on at how fantastic this place was. I had never been. So I took the opportunity to go for a special dinner one night. I have to say I have eaten at the best restaurants across the globe, this is not one of those. Unless you had a really bad night when I was there, this was rushed, poor service, cramped seating and just not very good. Sorry, I ruined a great memory my wife held.

Today I got a 'personalised' newsletter from the CEO telling me how great it was. May I ask you sir, when was the last time you ate there?
