The Yards Bar And Kitchen

Went here for the first time the other day just to have a look around. Ended up getting excited about business opportunities and staying for a few pints in the sun! Regret totally overlooking this place. Just because it's in Kettering doesn't mean it's the same as the rest of Kettering. Even had a picture taken of Lola the dog for the page!

We went there today for mayday festivities.



Good local beer on tap and a variety of live bands on stage.



Don't know who the young band were who were on when we arrived (singing a Green Day cover), but they were excellent!

My partner and I always come here not just for the fantastic food and drinks, but for the people that work there, Especially Demi. We don’t say we are going to the yards, we say are we going to see Demi today. We are always greeted with a smile and can have laugh and chat. Xx

I went to a book launch at "notjust words" book shop and then back to see all the industry there. I fell in awe of the industry and commuinty going on in such a now lovely corner of kettering. It is like going back in time when cottage Industries thrived.

I love the yards, cocktails are great, the bar staff are all attentive and friendly & the DJ is brilliant! Looking forward to trying the food too, as it all looks great

Had a great night last night - fab atmosphere, amazing cocktails - Velvet Elvis definitely my fav- great food - that hot sauce was hot! Can't wait for a summery night to be able to sit outside next time

An absolutely superb addition to the rather run down town of kettering. To say it made me smile is an understatement. Refreshing with a village atmosphere The wonderful open arena of industrial meets Camden market is pure genius. The shops are inspiring and independent and the bar/restaurant boasts a superb tasty menu with friendly staff too. Winner all round. A must see.

A fabulous time watching/listening to Alexandra Jayne on Saturday afternoon, before that treat, the food chosen from an extensive mouth watering menu, was presented in a manner that made it a pleasure to be there. Oh the food? Met my expectations in every respect, well done to the Chef and Staff

We have been a few times for an afternoon tiple. And have been happy with the service and entertainment. Today, entertainment was first class - the gin festival was amazing. However, when I asked about food as we had our three year old with us, I was told that the kitchen would open at 2pm for chips - I thought this odd. I cushioned his hunger with a packet of crisps and at 2pm went to order some chips, only to be told that the kitchen was not opening until 3pm! They are missing a trick! Thank goodness for the crepe lady! Her cheddar cheese crepe filled the hole that the bar kitchen could not.

Vastly improved service, well done! Possibly add a few bottled ales? Only personal preference of course, but limited choice for the non lager drinker - obviously I understand not having a cellar is problematic.

Great atmosphere and entertainment! Down side: not enough bar staff, over half hour wait each time and they don't serve in order of people waiting

First visit in the evening for my 40th birthday with the girls. Cocktails were lush, food looked lovely (I didn't eat...just drank cocktails!!) Will definitely visit again!!

When will the management of this place learn how to keep real ale. Frigging useless. The beer was like warm bath water last night and potbelly brewery should be ashamed of themselves for allowing there product to be served like it.

Waited ages. Our friend had already finished his meal by the time we were informed our order was lost. We received a refund and apology but the food that came afterwards was terrible. My noodles were rock solid and my mother was covered in soot from her pizza. Had some nice ales but probably won't go back to eat.

The staff need to learn to smile! Service is everything. I went in for a quick cocktail which was advertised using Bombay sapphire gin, yet was served with beefeater. It maybe preference but I have never drank from a plant pot and chose a glass much against the lady serving me. The yards has changed and it seems sad as it could have continued to be a great place. Hoping for a better change.

Having shopped in the Yards a few times, I was looking forward to going to the bar for few drinks, however I was very disappointed. Having looked at the menu, we selected the drinks we wanted, but we stood at the bar for half an hour without so much as an acknowledgement that we were there. We left without being served, and won't be back in any hurry.

Apparently plain rice, plain chicken and a few bits of chorizo make a paella here. Long waits to order and for food to arrive. Would not recommend this place for food.
