Went tonight 22nd May to see Brian Conley. What a belter of a night. From dangerous Brian, to comedy, to songs from the musicals. Staff were helpful too.
Went last night and saw "Dirty Dusting" it was brilliant. The Theatre itself as resantly opened a new bar making far easier to have a drink before and in the interval.
We went last night to see Peter Pan and it was fabulous my granddaughter was a lost boy and she had such
A great time she didn t want it to end and was in tears when she came out which says a lot about the cast the whole thing was very professional well done Wakefield West Riding Theatre Company this is not the first production I ve seen and have never been disappointed Thank You
We watched "Our House" the madness musical last night and it was out of this world!!! The cast were fabulous. I've seen shows on Broadway, the west end & Leeds and this was as good if not better than the top shows!! I'm certain we were watching future west end stars on stage last night.
This was also my first visit to the Theatre Royal & I have to say what a fantastic venue. The volunteers in particular need a special mention - what a great job they do before, during & after the show!! Great night
Very good production of the full monty and performance was excellent , and the service from the theatre staff was great. 5* guys and gals.
The cast of Aladdin were fantastic. Great acting, great jokes, wonderful singing and dancing. Still love your twelve days of Christmas even after seeing it for many years. Very on trend music. Good crowd in yesterday too. Thank you for a great afternoon's entertainment. Our 8 year olds were glued. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year xxx
My daughter and I have just been to see Peter Pan, wow, what a performance, everyone was outstanding, the whole show was packed with singing and dancing from start to finish, well done everyone xx
Just got back from Our 5th panto at the lovely Theatre Royal Wakefield. It never fails to put a smile on our face. We wouldn't go anywhere else, fantastic value for money, brilliant actors and such a lovely theatre with lovely staff. Our kids love it and can't wait for 2018. Keep up the hard work and chris Hanson your a legend
I went last night to watch Money for Nothing absolutely loved it the Theatre was awesome staff were very helpful and friendly the whole experience was amazing someone complained about the price of drinks, but I was quite happy to pay whatever the cost I WILL DEFINITELY be going again soon. If I could give 10 stars I would loved it, loved it, loved it
Great show ( Billy Fury experience ) . Staff were extremely helpful , most of the audience were elderly and I noticed how they helped people and had patience with them .
Always enjoy a night at Theatre Royal Wakefield. Went to see Brian Conley and didnt stop laughing.
6 of us came today and loved it! A fabulous production, very funny and exactly what you would expect from a good panto! Particularly liked wishy washy and hankypanky/ djinn! And widow twanky was fantastic! The understudy for Jasmine did brilliantly , especially at such short notice. Can't wait for next year's now! Thanks for a great show :-)
Went to see KES, great performance and excellent value for money.
However... please please please invest in some air conditioning of some sort. Some left before it even finished because it was getting close to being unbearable.
Will be back for the pantomime in December as usual... hopefully a bit cooler then!
We went to see the Full Monty Saturday afternoon 28th April, it was a good show, but we did not realise it had American actors and was set in America !! And to not perform the song you can leave your hat on, or you sexy thing which are the Full Mony was a big disappointment. But overall it was a good experience, and we enjoyed it thank you.
The theatre itself is beautiful and has great performances but could do with little revamping. We hired a box which said for 4 people, we were very cramped and I was in the corner and couldn't move my legs as my knees were pressed against the side. I also had no view of half the stage. I know it's an old building but perhaps an additional cubicle could be added in the ladies toilets by utilising some of the very large hand-wash area.
The Theatre is lovely and the staff are but we went to watch the full Monty there and what a disaster came out half n hour into the show very disappointing
Our first visit to the theatre to see the Illegal Eagles for the third time. I liked the quaintness of the theatre but it's full of nooks and crannies. To get to our seat high up in the gods, we had to go through the bar and wind our way there. It was a good show but we thought the acoustics for music were poor. Also, we had a group of rowdy youths alongside us which spoilt some of the numbers. The youths had obviously been drinking and were allowed to top up their levels at the interval. Surely someone should not have served them in their state? Nevertheless, we need to hold on to our legacy from the Victorians. Don't replace it. Just update it.
The show was fabulous, Jeremy Hardy totally surpassed my expectations. The Theatre could be beautiful but really needs a good clean the curtains are full of dust, the paint everywhere is scuffed and it all just needs sone love and attention. Ice cream is expensive but nice!
Great performance of Kea last night however sitting in the upper circle we were unable to see the back drop which showed photos and photos and film relating to the show. This spoilt it for us completely. They needed to lower the projector so the film could be seen by all or get rid of the curtain that drops down over the top of the stage.
