User

We had an amazing time yesterday for the 2pm showing of Snow white, the cast were fantastic and the staff within the theatre were also very attentive. My 3 year old really enjoyed her 1st panto! Thank you, we will return!

User

My colleagues and I were given the amazing opportunity to attend the Snow White Panto. It was my first ever panto and it was wonderful!

Both staff, cast and venue were spectacular. They are an asset to the area.

I can't wait to visit again. A HUGE well done to you all!! even those behind the scenes.

User

Had a fab time at the pantomime last night with my friend and her little boy - Brad Fitt and the rest of the cast were brill as always and my friends little boy even had the chance to go up on stage for a dance ! See you next year!!

User

Great evening..thank you for putting the show on despite weather conditions. Can't believe all the negativity on here ..it's a business for heavens sake! Two of our party couldn't make it due to weather and the reception booked them in on another night after Christmas without me asking. That's what I call service..as for the show..something for everyone prob more for the adults than children but our 4 yr old grandson seemed to enjoy himself.

User

A feel good evening, the music was great and took me right back to my teenage years! I remember seeing Dusty Springfield in 1966! The cast worked hard ! Not only singing, but dancing and playing musical instruments!

User

Performance of Spamalot, first night was brilliant. Super acting and ad-libbing and a warm audience in a very cosy setting. I do like Theatre Severn as a venue. Staffa re super too.

User

surely all this negative publicity will make Theatre Severn have some empathy for my and hundreds of other families who had to see their sad children/grandchildren’s faces today when we had to explain that we wouldn’t be able to go to the panto ,while many other theatres offered refunds or alternative dates you did not .Poor customer service from you ,many including my family will go elsewhere next year bah humbug Theatre Severn ,you don’t even deserve one star I hope you read these comments

User

Unfortunately I have to press 1star in order to be able to post a message ..... disgusting that you are running the show today and advising people that the tickets are non refundable if they don’t get to Shrewsbury , in effect you are forcing families to risk their lives because a lot of people cannot afford to loose out on ticket costs as they may be a major part of Xmas gifts given by grandparents etc ..... Emergency services are advising people not to travel , some have decided to shelve this advice and been caught up in diversions because of road closures, accidents and vehicles stuck in several inches of snow ....

there must be someone reading all these comments that are up to date with Health and safety regulations and the Law ..... please share and get refunds for the people who took the advice of the emergency services and stayed where they were today in safety and with the welfare of their family paramount....

Shame on you Theatre Severn

User

Unforgivable and such a shame you caused so much disappointment and upset to families in Shropshire and mid Wales. Against all the advice and other events being cancelled you made the decision to go ahead. Money common sense and safety of your loyal customers! This will undoubtedly damage your reputation as a family friendly theatre for future performances. I wonder how many of the attendees on Sunday took the risk to go, purely because they couldn’t scoff at wasting £100’s on an annual treat to see the panto. You’ve cancelled tomorrow, very sensible. The school trip tickets are heavily discounted and won’t typically have costed families £100’s of pounds, but still wise to cancel until weather and road conditions return to a safe level.

User

Unbelievable that for a booking of over 100 tickets you claim on the day that they are non refundable when being fully aware that half the country is snowed in and many local roads are closed. Selfish, greedy, classless.

User

My son's school trip was cancelled due to severe weather conditions deemed it to dangerous to travel. Yet you stay open, even though you know no one in there right mind would drive or be able to get to you all so you don't have to refund ticket money.. shocking and greedy...A lot of parents from the telford school are now out of pocket because you chose to put profits first. I hope the school and many others do not use you again...

User

I will not be recommending theatre Severn to anyone anytime soon, the customer care we received yesterday was disgusting. Goes to show a company will only think of the £ signs before a persons safety. 5 years we have been attending the pantomimes and I for one will be making sure we never do again! Disappointed in the way you have dealt with such a situation. Everywhere else cancelled and rescheduled pantomimes but your selfishness wish to continue! I don’t care about the money as long as my family are safe maybe you should consider this yourself! After the warnings we as public had been given to not attempt to travel comes to show that you only care about profits!

User

I need to start by saying this is not a review of the performance. Again the cast and production put on an excellent show. This is a review of your treatment to loyal customers at what is already a hugely expensive time of year and the time of year means there’s bound to be some changes to the weather. We were fortunate to be able to make the performance but it didn’t go unnoticed how empty the place was. The top section was practically empty, the middle looked sparse as did the stalls. People tried to look happy but the lack of enthusiasm by the audience was palpable. I felt sorry for the cast who almost had to work twice as hard to gee up the audience. You could have cancelled. Your lack lustre efforts to be kind to loyal customers was awful. The car parks were open but lethal. The path into the building was equally dangerous. There was no appreciation of the effort those who did make it in from staff and at the very least I felt some presence from management should have been felt or seen. My children had a great time as did us adults but mainly down to the superb cast you’re so fortunate to have at TS. The consistently poor attitude to the situation that unfolded on social media and the radio yesterday has made my decision not to return next year final. I’m sure your will have packed out stalls again next year weather permitting but this incident won’t be forgotten by many.

Performance 5*

Production 5*

Management compassion and common sense -100%

User

I made a booking for 44 people for the second year. I appreciate weather conditions are out of any ones control but other major attractions and events have been cancelled due to weather conditions and the restaurant The Alb also in Shrewsbury have been fantastic and offered us an alternative date even though food has been purchased for our pre booked meal. come on Theatre Severn step up you can’t expect families with small children to risk journeys in conditions like to day at least offer another performance date for those unfortunate enough to have missed today’s performance through no fault of their own.

User

I have been to various performances at theatre severn and all of them fantastic, however after your decision yesterday to not refund or offer any kind of alternative tickets to those people who could not attend the pantomime due to extreme weather conditions, meaning it was unsafe to travel, you were giving your customers the choice of risking lives or losing am awful lot of money. Bad decision, bad management. And completely out of anyone's control, so unfair. Wil be attending a different theatre next year that actually cares about its paying loyal customers.

User

I am appalled you won't refund tickets for today's performance when police are telling people not to travel. I don't think you comprehend the fallout from your reckless decision. I haven't bought tickets thank goodness as we wouldn't be able to get to you and we have now decided we will never attend your theatre again unless we see you have published a retraction.

User

Highly concerning Theatre Severn. The road conditions for those who bought tickets to your show and keep you ALL in a job are horrific, and extremely unsafe for many who support your theatre. It would not be wise for families to travel in such conditions. These children have been looking forward for many months to their Christmas Pantomime and for no fault of their own you have made a blanket decision not to refund. A deeply upsetting decision.

User

Dreadful treatment of loyal customers, with no empathy or regard for their safety in these extreme weather conditions. This could have been handled a lot better, so many disappointed children and families. I think a lot of future custom will have been lost, which is a shame due to one very, very poor decision

User

Definitely made the wrong decision today by not cancelling . The pantos and your reputation is in tatters which is really really sad. People travel miles to shrewsbury to see it and by the decision today people will think twice in booking again . Kids are heartbroken that they won’t see the performance and families disgusted and let down .. do I need to go on about health and safety and the professionals advising not to travel ... ! ? Please do the right thing by putting on another performance or refund people
