The food was lovely as always and the time it took for it to come was fast! Definitely recommend to people

Got to love spoons, good value food and drinks, your not going to a la carte cuisine & champagne cocktails, but does have a good variety of pub grub, and very reasonably priced. The staff was friendly, made us feel welcomed & had a friendly atmosphere. It has great seating area outside, and a balcony perfect for people watching. Had a lovely afternoon, and would definitely go back.

A really nice place with friendly and helpful staff. I really enjoyed my evening at Thelookingglass!

Went here for a few drinks and a few "sharers" with my wife. Draught Punk IPA was top class. When we`d finished our meal, a guy came over and asked if "we`d finished"? To which we replied, "yes, It was lovely thanks". He then proceeded to throw the plates on the floor..............No! He wasn't staff, but a very drunk customer. So, in conclusion.....The pubs great, but some of the punters are nutjobs.

Went for steak night last night, we had 14oz Angus steak and ribs and a bottle of red for £18 ish , food was OK and wine was nice, what you expect for the price

We often use Spoons when in a place we don’t know very well. You are never going to get Michelin Star food but it’s good solid pub grub and there is always a choice of guest ales. What makes or breaks a Spons is the staff, and the staff at the Looking Glass were excellent. So acceptable food, mulled cider, nice place and great service. What more can you as, for at the prices they charge?

User

It was lovely food and staff was nice but was spoilt by another customer she was eithier drunk or off her head on drugs wouldn’t leave us alone.Obsessed with my 16 month old son at one point thought she was gonna run off with him said to her go away several times want have our meal in piece but kept coming back saying he is cute over and over again there’s friendly and there is over friendly to which became uncomfortable my husband told her leave us alone in the end bluntly to her having a go then left staring at us from other table eyes on my son and then came back again...I’m like just just away after the sixth time basically harassing us and my son so no wont be coming back due to didn’t feel safe with a nutjob woman off her head which shouldn’t even been allowed in the pub in that state !!

User

Great pub, just a shame that the best belgium beers are not on stock, like chouffe and duvel.

User

User

Went in for breakfast with my daughter and grandson...used your new ordering app, which is ok except you cant add messages like no beans on breakfast...so had to go downstairs anyway...served quick but have to admit it wasnt very warm.. grandson liked his because he could eat it with out blowing it cold....

User

Went for evening meal. Although service was great food was quick steak cooked to perfection the chips were awful and the peas were hard,, seemed like chips and peas were cooked in microwave .

User

Not happy with cold breakfast and tiny toast that you can't fit egg and bacon on !! I had to buy more cold toast with no butter !! Staff were not helpful or bothered about my issue :/

Last night my husband and I went to the looking glass in Warrington, with a couple of friends for our dinner/tea.

From the moment we ordered everything went wrong.

The waitress never made eye contact, acted as if she was fed up of working there. Every order came wrong, my husband had the 8oz steak with jacket potato and portobello mushroom. That mushroom was not a portobello mushroom, it was the tiniest squashed mushroom in the world. We sent it back, and another tiny mushroom came again, we sent it back.... no further action was taken by the staff, not even an explanation or apology.

Next it was my order, I had a pizza and it was lovely then I had chips with curry sauce too, for sharing. We didn’t notice at first because the chips were hot, but the curry sauce that came in a little gravy boat was completely cold. So we sent it back, we were never nasty about it, we just asked if it was meant to be cold, she said no, she took it and brought it back, same gravy boat, heated up in the microwave. And the worse part was the way she brought it back, she just dumped it on the table and left, again, no eye contact, no apology, no smile, no acknowledge that we were there at all.

Next my friend ordered a pizza, pepperoni with mushroom and ham, pizza came with pepperoni ham and pineapple, and I have to say my friend is extremely allergic to pineapples, when we called the waiter, instead of taking it and apologise, he started pointing at the ingredients, saying this is ham etc... (because apparently we do not know what ham is) and she said yes that is ham, but this is not mushroom (pointing at the pineapple) so he took it and brought a new one, no problems there, again no apology, it was like if it was our fault or something. And that’s it really, but it ruined our night, and we are certainly never ever going back there. And the problem wasn’t the food, we know people make mistakes and it’s busy so it can happen, the problem was the treatment we received by your staff. And we weren’t the only ones, other tablets were complaining as well.

So put them out of their misery and employ people that actually want to be there, or maybe it’s the way they are treated by their employers. In any case that shouldn’t show when dealing with customers.

Thank you for your time.

Alexia.
