I always love an over bustle. It can be such a great way to show off a beautiful train, whilst keeping it up and out of the way, ready for a bride to dance the night away!
I altered this dress pre-lockdown, taking the hips out 2 sizes. With no seam allowance in the sides, I inserted a diamond of fabric at the centre back. Six sets of scrubs delivered to a very grateful GP surgery this afternoon. The receptionist I gave them to was in genuine disbelief. ‘Where did you find those?!’ 💔😢 - I made them for you ❤️

In THREE days, our small community of sewists have provided over 100 pieces of PPE to local care providers, made just from what we had in our own homes, and raised almost £2000 to purchase materials to make more.

Suddenly my life-long fabric hoarding habit comes to good use! Making scrubs for local health care services this week 🥼🦸‍♀️👩‍⚕️

Made this Enzoani train even more dramatic, by inserting a large godet at the centre back for length, and adding an extra layer of stiff tulle for structure.

The last week has felt like a race against time. Some of my brides made it up the aisle, others didn’t 💔 But in time, they will, and so for now, I’ll be working through the few dresses on my to do list 👰 And then I’ll do my best to enjoy the down time, because I’ve a feeling the end of 2020 will be very busy indeed! ❤️💍

My heart really goes out to all the couples postponing, rearranging, fighting for their weddings just now 💔 Yesterday at Aurora Bride I met a very tenacious bride, who reminded me just what a wedding is all about. She said ‘We can do the party, the food, the fancy photos another time. We just want to be married’ ❤️
