We stock Military Model kits from many suppliers and a large range of scenic materials. Also a wide variety of modelling tools and raw materials as well as diorama bases both completed and as moulded plastic bases ready to work. .

Period Houses in Miniature has been supplying dollshouses, furniture and accessories in the Shrewsbury area since 1987 when the business began, on a small scale, in St Julian's Craft Centre.

In various locations around the town the business has evolved in response to the changing demands of the adult collectors market. Where basic dollshouses were once the norm, we are now asked to produce more esoteric designs such as Art-Deco, Gothic and fantasy as well as our established range of Tudor houses and furniture.

We build to the standard dolls house scale of one inch to the foot but some collectors have space restrictions in their homes so scale models of tiny cottages, shops and space saving Victorian terraced houses are popular lines.

We provide "outside space" with a range of handmade garden bases, chicken runs, outside loos and compost heaps. For customers who wish to produce their own greenery we stock a comprehensive range of scatters and scenics.

Room boxes have always been popular, allowing the collector to duplicate a single room or theme in much greater detail than normal. We stock "empty" room boxes as well as complete examples of workshops, laundry rooms, mad scientists laboratories and shops.

We stock a large range of furniture and accessories both made by ourselves and imported. An everyday range with items from 50pence upwards to a deluxe range with luxury items from Jia-Yi. Also available are wallpapers, flooring, brick papers, carpets and rugs.

In 2012 following repeated requests for a "Lads and Dads" section we began stocking military model kits. Following a lifelong interest in tanks, the range began as land based military vehicles but has now extended to include aircraft - both military and civil, shipping - naval and merchant, and a range of cars. These kits are from such well known brands as Airfix, Tamiya, Academy, Trumpeter, Revell, italeri, Masterbox. Emhar, Takom and more.

We stock a large range of figures in both 1: 35 and 1: 72 1: 76 from military campaigns from the Zulu war through the World Wars to Afghanistan. Figures from other periods can be ordered on request.

Another part of our range is an extensive stock of raw materials including woods and mouldings; paints; adhesives; tools; scenics and scatters; Perspex and styrene sheets and strips; Milliput and Fimo; fixings, screws and hinges.

We are always happy to try and source any particular item that a customer is looking for and many of these lines become part of our range. We bring in new lines as they become available from our suppliers so that our range is constantly changing.
