Went with a group of friends today in what can only be described as gale force winds and snow. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and explained to us that some of the birds may be more reserved than others due to the weather, which was completely understandable. After walking around and seeing some amazing birds of prey so closely, we were then told they were going to try and put on a show. There was only 5 of us and they had no obligation at all to do this and we would of completely understood if they would of canceled due to the severe weather conditions and lack of audience. Nonetheless they put on an amazing show for us which we thoroughly enjoyed, although some of the birds might not of said the same thing. Really interesting and interactive performance and the bond between the workers was clear to see. We were allowed to hold one of the American eagles and pose for pictures which was a really nice way to cap off an amazing experience in weather conditions that definitely did not favour what they had to offer. To top off the experience we were told that due to the weather restricting our viewing time and also having to cut short the talk and performance, we are going to be allowed free entry tomorrow. Can't wait to do it all again tomorrow. Thank you so much.

We spent a wonderful full day here yesterday (July 2018). It was our second visit so we were really excited to return. Kerry, Colin and David are so welcoming, entertaining and knowledgeable, and very obviously care enormously about their beloved birds. We were treated to many anecdotes and lots of interesting facts about the birds' characters, origins and care. The hawk walk is a joy and it's wonderful to see how much trust and respect the birds have for their handlers. The weather helped as it wasn't too hot, the facilities were good and we look forward to returning again. One possible suggestion would be a handout showing which birds are flying on the day, which would be a lovely keepsake. Thanks for making it a special day.

We have just been today to Thirsk Birds of Pray centre. Had a wonderful day. Staff were really friendly, had lots of knowledge about all the birds but most of all they showed a great passion and love for work they do. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a fantastic experience.

We had a fabulous day there yesterday. We watched all 3 flight displays of the day, all with different birds. We paid for the family experience so we got to fly a selection of the birds they have there several times each. Seeing the birds soaring over the valley and coming back was magnificent and the fact that a lot have been rescued from aviary life, cooped up and now have that freedom was even more special for the birds. 100% recommend this family friendly centre.

We did the Full Day Falconry and it was really good! I’d highly recommend it to anyone interested in these beautiful birds. We hope to return when they do the VIP events later in the year and if they can ever do the vulture handling :)

Three bird displays with an amazing range of birds from the kestrel to kookaburra to massive vultures and eagles. An opportunity to have your photo taken with a different bird after each display. Coffee and snacks reasonably priced too. Great day out.

This is a real gem of a place to visit where you can get close up to the birds � there and also get hands on with them with the staffs help,

All staff (owners) are very willing to stop and talk about the birds and all are very knowledgable.

Oh my word, this by far is the most reasonably priced family day out! Enjoyed by adults and kids, the flying demonstrations were brilliant and the birds all look so happy, will definitely return

Given half a chance the centre would be a second home, the staff are great and make a real effort to educate. I have been to several bird's of prey centres in the north of england and thirsk is in my opinion, at the top of the game. I've never seen so many birds flown in one day and the centre is very accommodating to photographer's. Colin, David and Kerry are extremely knowledgeable and this really shows. My son and I visit often and plan to take advantage of the owl and eagle days in the near future. The amenities are first rate, plenty of parking, immaculate toilets and a nice tea room. Compared to some centres the admission fees are also competitive too.

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon in the sunshine at this hidden gem. The birds are all in exceptional condition and very chilled and enjoying the scenic, tranquil location. The handlers are efficient and caring and the display was fantastic! It was humorous and informative with loads of information about each individual bird. We’ll definitely visit again if only to see the vultures!

Down from Ayrshire Scotland for the weekend and randomly came across this place! It was amazing!! Had a great afternoon seeing all the birds! 100% worth it!

Bought the full day experience voucher for my partner and I went along as a spectator.... don’t know where to start it was a lovely day and Kerry, Colin and David were all so wonderful they really enjoy there job and it shows in making our day special... absolute fantastic value for money will defiantly be going back and couldn’t recommend highly enough to give this place a visit. ��

Amazing day out here. Such well looked after cared for birds. So nice to just see them be able to fly where they want. Talks were really interesting and full of facts and stories that kept us interested throughout. Brilliant staff who will chat to you and teach you no matter your age. Great value for money. Would definitely go back and would recommend. Loved the fact gazebos were provided for shade in this heat. Great for me and the baby.

Absolutely fantastic day out! A little surprise from the husband as part of our ‘mini-moon’ & we had a fabulous day. The staff are really friendly and knowledgable. The birds are exceptionally well trained and mesmerising to watch during the displays! Will definitely be visiting again soon for one of the experience days!
