The weekly quiz here at the TK has gone from strength to strength over the past 18 months, with live ukulele music, impeccably acted film quotes, tricksy puzzle rounds and the usual Current Affairs, Pot Luck and Speciality Rounds - tables book up pretty quickly! The whole back half of the pub is dedicated to the BIG QUIZ every Tuesday from 19:00 onward, kicking off about 19:30. There are Joker Rounds, Jackpot Rollovers, Tie Breaks and all sorts - come down and have a lark. Discounts on food and drink for all Quiz Teams.

Red sky at night, Shepard’s delight!! ❤️

User

Ladies and Gentlemen, the quiz last night was absolutely *heaving* and the Rollover Question was not answered, so a Raffle-esque Rollover for a lucky winner will also be on the cards next week! Come on down, every Tuesday for Questions and Ukulele-playing Idiocy! And why not have some food and drinks too?!?!! We highly recommend booking a table, as space is a) limited and b) always full!

User

As the scorching summer of 2018 comes to a mild and dreary close, as we all ponder the necessity to turn the heating back on, fear not - the bigQUIZ at The Thomas Kemp continues to move through the year with Autumnal Grace. It's our 1st birthday at The TK in early September, so the Tuesday 4th quiz will be a very special affair! Either way, until Winter comes knocking at the door, every Tuesday at The TK, the bigQUIZ will be asking questions, playing ukulele and generally having a right old lovely time - come on down! £2 per person, booking a table is thoroughly advisable, as the 10 or so tables available book out pretty regularly! Discounts on food and drink - frivolity!

Wow what a super Sunday roast

The beef was to die for. And excellent service to go with it.

Went for afternoon tea on Friday, what can I say apart from wow, food was amazing and what a lovely pub

User

Totally scrummy Sunday roasts!!big portions too. I ordered a child's roasts plus a side order of honey roast parsnips and cauliflower cheese and couldn't manage it all. Meat (pork) delicious and crackling beautifully crispy. Veg really tasty. Loved the red cabbage especially! Couldn't fault it. Really relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff too.

User

Thomas Kemp has the best Sunday roast in Brighton. I have eaten here so many times and every meal has been beautiful!!!

User

The food is amazing here - good portions and all so beautifully fresh and flavoursome! Excellent service too!

I've been going to the Thomas Kemp for many years. I remember the place when it was the Polar Bear.

I often go for Sunday Lunch which has become a bit of a Sunday normality for me. We take friends and family there whenever they stay with us in Brighton.

Like most pubs in Brighton it is completely dog friendly, they'll always bring over a water bowl etc if you need one.

Food is always great, they've been recognised as having one of the best burgers in the whole of Brighton.

Their traditional Sunday lunch is delicious. Whether you have beef, pork, lamb, chicken or the veggie option, they are all great with a fabulous selection of vegetables and all the usual accompaying condiments and sauces.

Service is great, friendly and attentive. The place can get really busy on a Sunday for lunch but they take reservations which is good if you want to take a larger group.

They give a discount to pensioners and to certain groups like NHS staff which is an added bonus.

It's a place where you can just relax and have a drink and food, in the midst of lovely Kemp Town and a block back from Marine Parade if you fancy a walk on the seafront after filling your belly.

Love it.

I have never had a bad meal at The Thomas Kemp. The food is consistently high quality, fresh and delicious. It's my favourite place to eat, and I love my food 😊

User

I had the best Sunday lunch that I've eaten in years. Thank you very much for looking after us, it was just what we needed on a winters afternoon. And the mulled cider was right up my street. #Lovedit #We will be back.

User

Best roast in Brighton! Absolutely love this pub, the staff are friendly and hospitable. The pub is dog and child friendly. There's a great selection of drinks and the Sunday roasts are amazing. I walked past someone with nachos and they looked fantastic, I look forward to sampling them!

User

All of us thoroughly enjoyed our very tasty and plentiful meals. The staff were very friendly and made the visit a really enjoyable and memorable experience.

User

Went to the Thomas Kemp for some food and beer after a long walk along the seafront with my boyfriend and dog. The food was good, but I wanted to give a special shout-out to a lady called Kath, who was working behind the bar. She chatted to us about our mutt, and made us all feel very welcome!

User

We didn't try the food as we hadn't long eaten. The place had a nice atmosphere though and service was prompt and polite so, quite nice really...intend to try it again next visit to Brighton

User

Lovely place with a cozy beer garden (I just wish people weren't allowed to smoke there, I'll detract a star for that) and gentle staff. I enjoyed two great Sussex beers: Dark Star Sunburst and Arundel Brewery's Castle.

User

I was pleasantly surprised and I had no preconceived idea about what to expect. Food was delicious , lovely fresh vegetables and individual gravy jugs. I had the crab starter and the sea bass for main meal and it was delicious . Xmas pudding tasty too and not too big a portion with fresh cream and custard. Environment a little bit loud (it's Christmas after all) as a result of some of tables around us having drinks only but service good.

User

Normally love it here, shame the mums felt it was a good place to take babies & children there? Someone stopped a little one from going down the stairs?? Had to leave in the end for the constant crying!!! Couldn't hear our conversation?? Sorry, I love kids, but this is not the place? Give your children the attention they deserve??

User

Great place as one of the few that does not stock Einstok White Ale - which is amazing ! Slightly disappointed with roast experience though, those roast potatoes tasted like they came out of a freezer bag
