This was perhaps the best place we stayed. Friendly staff, comfortable and well-kept rooms, luxury like bathrooms in regard to normal hostel standards. It offers a great location to explore the awesome natural beauty of the lake district. I strongly recommened a stay at this hostel.

I lost my way whilst to nearby tarn and stopped their just to ask the way. Rather than helping the lady at bar said I am blocking her entrance even though there was no car in 2 mile radius.
This was not the end. me and my friend move the car out from this place and stopped at the end of the road to check our way. She came out till end of the road to ask us to leave the place immediately. VERY VERY RUDE

I would not suggest this place to anyone.

Good service from pleasant staff. The room was pretty small but it's a hostel so what can you expect. The hot water ran out, hence the four stars.

Perfect hosts, this is a fantastic hostel, in a superb location at a great price.

I had a quiet ,comfortable stay in November, enabling pleasant shopping excursion in the village and a visit to Heaton Cooper Gallery to see the exhibition of world photographs by Ashley cooper, giving a moving and intimate world survey of Global Warming in digestible form.
I would have given five stars if the rain had turned to picturesque snow before I left.
