Wonderful country pub service was excellent the food was superb really generous portions

We went yesterday and had a Sunday dinner with our friends whom we visited in Scunthorpe, was beautiful , cooked to perfection. We will be Def going there again when we are up visiting our friends..

Thought I would take the wife out for tea so she didn't have to cook.But didn't realise you had to cook your own steak over a hot rock. Absolutely brilliant, and the staff lovely. Can't wait to go back. Well worth the money. 8out10.

The food and service was excellent cannot fault it you where made to feel very welcome even by the locals lol the steak was 5 star food would highly recommend

Rural country public house large car park. 10 minutes drive out of Durham. Great menu, served by courteous staff. I had three lamb chops mash, veg; also gravy to die for. YUMMY.

Just been for a family Christmas meal. It was absolutely fabulous as was the service. We will definitely be visiting again- my two little boys demand it! Thank you guys

Just attended the bonfire and fireworks party. Wow! It was amazing, never seen fireworks like it for a long time. The parkin and bonfire toffee were yummy and kept the three of us munching through the night. What a gem! Thankyou!

I have been going here for years and it has only got better the food is excellent the beer is kept perfectly. John and Denise are great hosts, and every member of staff is lovely. I cannot praise it enough

Food was really good and hot, plenty of room at the table for family meals and nice atmosphere without being jostled by drinkers. Lovely

Amazing. We had steak & venison on the black rock, it was fantastic. The only thing that could have made it any better would be real chips! �
