You don’t get given a reputation for ‘as good a pint o’ Guinness as you’ll taste this side of the Irish Sea’ for nothing! A morning’s work spent making the best better...

No ‘award’ beats a returning happy customer, but this is always nice!

Please share this stunning tribute ‘For The Fallen - We Will Remember Them’ sung by the fantabulous Emma Smith Music...

Sun’s getting his funky li’l hat on just in time for the band kickin’ off! And kick off it will with the awesome Daniel Pearce aka DTale (THE VOICE of SIGMA’s hit ‘Nobody To Love’), Francesco Mendolia & Francis Hylton on kit & bass (Incognito), Emlyn Francis (guitar) and Andrew Noble (keys). Yep, it’s gonna be FUUUUNNNKAAAAYYY...

It's the Li'l Landlord Billy Boy's 1st Birthday Bash tonight! He decided he wants a music festival so his mum Lizzie Deane's bringing a monster band along - Mo Nazam, Roger Evan, Winston Blissett & Bob Knight - to play him some funk'd up nursery rhymes and a few other loony choons. We hope to see a few of ya's! BAND ON AT 7pm x

What a welcoming place. 3 adults and 6 kids went for Sunday lunch. The landlord and staff went out of their way to accommodate us and our fussy children. Yummy food too! Will definitely go back.

User

We had a most wonderful lunch food was delicious and the staff are so friendly we can't wait for our next visit

User

Visited this lovely little pub for the 3rd time this year last night, mainly to watch the wonderful entertainment provided by the fabulously talented songstress Lizzie Deane; but also to eat beforehand!

I could not get over the genuinely warm welcome that my friend and I received from Danny and his staff, mainly Sinead; but also the food was out of this world! This time we indulged in 3 courses each one was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced.

I shall definitely be returning, but would also urge others to sample the hospitality provided by this quintessential charming Pub!

Very nice pub we stopped there while walking the dog had a couple of drinks and two bowls of fat chips best chips I've tasted for a long time.will be taking the dog past there more often now.

This pub has recently been taken over by Danny Williams. A lick of paint, some new tables and outdoor brollies have really transformed this stunning 'chocolate box village' pub. More importantly the place is buzzing with a great selection of wines and FAB food (see photos on this page).

All the locals really seem to love this pub and it's not hard to see why with the stunning views over the village green (with a lovely war memorial) and a duck pond. A dog walkers paradise. The pub's doggie friendly too!

I really love the vibe of this pub. It's at the heart of the community yet it's incredibly welcoming to anyone who passes by. Lots on including local village get togethers (of various 'clubs') and more recently some brilliant live music.

Mine's a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and that Cod and Chips please! See you again soon...

My family and I had lunch here and found the whole service truly excellent. There was always a member of staff on hand and the Manager was very attentive. The food was excellent and portions were big. We had a lovely afternoon and will be back for sure.

User

Lovely pub in a beautiful little village always try and stop in for a pint after buying my face scotch eggs from the farm shop.

User

Just had the best breakfast ~ poached eggs avocado and peanut butter - yummy. Tough making a decision from a wonderful brunch menu .Served by the lovely Sinead who gives the warmest welcome. Madelyn loved her toast and bacon, thanks for looking after her!

Houma's with mixed olives starter - very tasty, garlicky, herby with a hint of olive oil. Marinaded green and black olives with lemon, onions, garlic & sun dried tomatoes. 10/10

Roast beef with all the trimmings - OMG! Beef was roasted to perfection, moist with a hint of pink, soft, nicely carved about 7mm thick. Vegetables - broccoli, carrots, cabbage (with a hint of chilly butter), crispy roast potatoes (fluffy inside), roasted garlic clove. Gravy (was to die for) nicely thickened with a garlicky/herby taste. 10/10

Deserts were fabulous, chocolate brownies with ice cream.

We decided to ask if there was a possibility of a cheese board (didn't expect there to be one as the menu didn't list one) the landlord came out and offered what he had which we accepted and OMG when it came out there was blue stilton, a strong cheddar, wensleydale with cranberries, and a strong goats cheese served with sweet onion relish, with a mixture of biscuits around 16 in total, butter and sliced radish on the side. 10/10

Guinness was perfect and The Mrs' Sauvignon blanca was delicious apparently.

Kids friendly, dog friendly.

All in all the best we've ever Sunday afternoon pub outing we've ever had and was so good we have booked a table for next Sunday.

Sooo glad that the Battle axes around the corner turned us away Lol....won't need them anymore lmfao

User

Family lunch with fab food, great service in a pretty location.

User

Amazingly delicious food and the owner was super nice and helpful. I had the pie and my partner had the fish and chips. The place is warm, inviting and the decor isn't bad either. Seriously check it out.

User

Absolutely fantastic band playing this afternoon, our group had a fabulous time, thank you. Do please post up when they are coming back.

User

The food was nice, though very expensive for what we had and not very big portions, menu was limited too

Took an age to come out as well, no time to consider dessert as we had to be somewhere and wait had already been excessive

Surrounding were pleasant and peaceful outside where we sat

User
