Professional thieving! Absolutely outrageous, cannot trust these scumbags! This company lie to your face about giving you back your deposit and then decide to charge you even when they say to your face everything is fine and the deposit will be returned. Do not hire a car here. I hope they go out of business, shouldn't be allowed to operate like that.

Went to Thrifty after Europcar let me down badly.

20 minutes after completing an online booking I was driving away in the rental. Excellent speedy service & I ended up with a bigger, better & cheaper car. This is my go-to car rental company in Cambridge now

For a car rental agency it really doesn't seem like they want people to rent their cars. It took over an hour to sort out the paperwork.

Excellent service. I urgently needed a van at 4.00pm in the afternoon which I booked and paid for over the phone via their website. At 4.20pm I was at their lot to collect the van and we did the paperwork in about 10 minutes. All they needed was my driving license and my bank statement which I had on my mobile phone banking app. This was because they needed proof that it was my card being used to pay for the car rental. Anyway, very helpful counter staff who let me keep my car parked on their lot overnight while I went off with the van. The van was spotless and as I'd paid over the phone, it was only £39.00 for 24 hours. Not a bad deal for getting me out of a tight spot in under half an hour! I'll definitely use them again.

been there twice. the first time we wasted too much going through the paperwork, which took a lot of time in comparison to other more efficient car rental companies, we ended up having to cancel our plan. the second time we reserved a bmw 1 series online beforehand. after going through all the paperwork again and signing the agreement, they told us the bmw 1 series car was unavailable and gave us a hyundai tucson while claiming the two cars were the same level. we protested, telling them the two cars are not similar at all and they should have informed us earlier, but to no avail.

The agents try too hard to upsell you, so you end up wasting a lot of time if you can't say no to 'seeing the other options'. Even then, when you've chosen, apparently they haven't checked the inside, so though we asked for a 7-seater with room for 4-5 suitcases, the back seat in the car they gave us didn't fold down properly. Further, they asked us to return the car with a full tank, but did not give it to us with a full tank. Overall, a pretty annoying start to our weekend, but the car itself was fine.
