Thrifty Car And Van Rental Oxford

Awful. Rude, incompetent and hostile to non-British customers. While Hertz, Europcar and others have happily accepted our documentation and excellent service, Thrifty obviously doesn't need foreign business. Best to avoid.

Lucy and Emily were lovely to work with and I thank them. We got a car at a good value. Two suggestions--google where the nearest petrol station is--we passed by a few coming in and there are none right by the rental. Always take detailed photos of any car you rent and then take some when you return. This way you can document condition if need be.

Pure robbery. I reserved a car, canceled 12 hours later, no longer needed it. Per the website, cancelations within 24 hours get a full refund, they charged me anyway, 200 pounds, for nothing! Don't even bother with these theives.

Had a first class service with them, very lovely and high class cars, the trainee girl was not very nice as you can imagine trying to please and charge even for the smallest things (which she said probably caused by the road as I didn't scratch the wheel) but the lovely lady...forgotten her name, stepped in and slash the charge. As the car was a brand new BMW. I think Road tear and wear should not be charged though!
I cannot complain, though I was charged for a tiny scratch on the wheel, but the ladies were really lovely and understandable. Will definitely rent from them again

Non existent customer service and take money from your account without consent. When I called the manager of the branch explaining the situation she declined to refund the money and blame it on Ford Rental when they didn't give them approval for them to take the money, she wasn't helpful and couldn't care less that they had taken the money. I will NEVER use thrifty again. Not only am I out of pocket they took two days to "bother" to pick up the car. Purely using my driveway as a car park.

Terrible. Wouldn't rent again.

Remind: Check ANY part of the car. Don't miss any TINY broken when you take it. It is better to take photo for those broken.

By the way, the only 5 star reply "Mark" is their partner.

After I returned the car they found a hairline crack in the bumper that I must have missed when I looked over the car initially. They charged me over £600 to fix this. It is impossible that this crack happened while I was in charge of the car, I didnt touch anything and I didnt park anywhere where someone could have touched me, but as I didnt notice it when I hired the vehicle and it there when I returned it, I got screwed.

DO NOT RENT HERE! Truly an awful experience. Rude, unhelpful staff, and a tremendous rigamarole to get the car - two types of id, passport, driver's license, etc. IF AT ALL POSSIBLE RENT ELSEWHERE!!! There is something fishy about this place....

The lady at the desk was nice. But the rules and requirements the have for renting a car are outrageous--almost like opening a bank account or renting an apartment. No other car rental place in Oxford required all of the documentation they did. What a joke.

I never rent this company. The staff impolite.I brought all documents but they are not rental. I request manager or boss. The staffs said I am .I can not find help. Unfortunately, I loss three day rental money.
Last said cheat company. Everyone don't let it cheat.
