Thrifty Car And Van Rental Stevenage

They have moved to Welwyn Garden City and are not in Stevenage any more. Last week, when I booked a car, it was still shown as Stevenage branch and it was easy to miss that the address now showed Welwyn Garden City. I had to pay extra to get it delivered because I couldn't collect from WGC, then they didn't deliver on time because it "didn't hit there system right".

*AVOID* *AVOID* *AVOID* *AVOID* Thrifty sell the cars back to the manufacturer after some minor rentals and expect the cars to be returned after rental in PERFECT CONDITION. You will be charged for the smallest most microscopic mark on the vehicle. They will lie to you about what damage is / is not covered with the hopes of tripping you up and then charging you for something you did not expect. Go with Enterprise instead who are up-front about damage.

Beware - Seem nice and cheap but rip you off on fuel. Tank wasn't full when we collected the van so we filled it up to the same level when we returned it. Then they charged us 12 extra litres at £1.50/litre so we won't be using them again, but it appears from other reviews that we got off lightly!!!!

Avoid this rental company!!! because they charged you cheaper comparing to other companies and then they found something how take money from you l. Upon return they find some scratch inside interior on the seat belt cover and charge me £138.00 which I haven't done. And I only noticed this scratch when I comeback home after I pick up a car. It was to late to ring them because office was closed!

Avoid. We picked up a van late in the day, when it was dusk and it was raining. We got the fastest handover of the van ever and when we returned it, they spent a good ten minutes looking over it and surprise, surprise found some scratches on the bodywork which meant we lost our deposit. Felt it was unlikely that we could have caused the damage since the van was driven to our home and then round a motorway and then back home, so can't see how it would have got the damage. If you do use this mob, insist on viewing the vehicle in good light and go over it with a fine tooth comb, noting every bit of damage you can find or it'll be an expensive experience ...

Beware of this bunch. They'll happily rent you the car and then rip you off upon return for any nonsense. We were charged £100+ for a scratched plastic rim that we couldn't even notice. AVOID at all costs.
