About Thurrock

Thurrock: A place of opportunity, enterprise and excellence, where individuals, communities and businesses flourish. www. thurrock. gov. uk

Thurrock Description

Thurrock is at the heart of the Thames gateway, on the north bank of the River Thames east of London. It is a thriving borough that encompasses large swathes of countryside, 18 miles (29km) of river frontage, and has national significance as a centre of major infrastructure and port capacity for import and export. The Thames Gateway is Europe's largest regeneration programme with fifty per cent being delivered in Thurrock.

Sixty per cent of Thurrock is green belt with many historic villages. The network of busy towns and picturesque villages give us a thriving population. Alongside spaces of peace and beauty, Thurrock is home to Lakeside Shopping Centre, one of the largest shopping complexes in Europe. All this is just 40 minutes by train from the heart of London.

🤔 Did you know? Wet wipes, if flushed down the toilet, can cause blockages and often break down into microplastics, which harm marine wildlife. Reduce your use of wet wipes or if you do use them, please put them in your grey/green bin.
For more information on what to put in your bins and recycling bins, visit: socsi.in/H4R8E 🤔
