Tilt began in 2009 due to a demand for more performance platforms and opportunities for dance artists in a creatively growing Liverpool. Providing this platform Tilt created a place where artists could show work, gain artistic contacts across the arts and get inspired. The Kazimier provided the perfect venue.

Tilt studio was given the opportunity to begin and establish itself in MelloMello a disused building that had been taken over by local artists initially from the TAO.

The studio has helped sustain Tilt platforms and other collaborative projects, support artists by providing space and performance opportunities
