Worth a visit and worth the money to help maintain what's left. Very rich in history if you go to the top where the village is and looking back at the top of the modern castle where the great Hall is. The village isn't ideal for young children as the steps are step and no fences on the higher ground if children run around. It's worth a walk up to the local church, as the history continues and you can circular back to the main village where the car parks are. The church has an ancient stone in it relating to Romans.

I enjoyed a lovely trip to Tintagel Castle. Whilst the wind whips up a fury, you can stand atop the island and wonder who these people were to build a castle on such a spot. Or you can marvel at the stunning views, particularly out over the Atlantic ocean. Tintagel castle is well worth the money. English heritage are improving facilities and you can see where they've spent our money, as it is well maintained through out. Although there is usually a land rover service to and from the cove, there is a lot of steps to climb up and down. I suggest you wrap up warm and wear suitable shoes for this journey. There is a cafe and a gift shop in the cove. The statue on the island is also worth visiting, if you have enough leg power left once you are on the island

A magical place to visit and get close to the legend of King Arthur. It's a good walk down to the site but it's worth it. If you are not used to walking or your legs are a bit dodgy I would advise paying extra and taking the land-rover back up the hill.

I'm not a big fan of castles - I usually find them full of artificial upholstery, you can't touch anything and they're musty. Tintagel Castle is a ruin with wonderful views. There isn't much of the castle standing - think foundations with a few door arches, however, there's a lot of scenery around the castle. We hiked most of the paths around, up and down steep stairs and had a great time exploring the area. I'd definitely recommend if you're more into scenery than you are castles. The cafe is good, too, with a few vegan options. It's a great place to come for a view and a bit of contemplation.

I was expecting castle ruins but a better description would probably be "few blocks from a castle that was probably there years ago". Absolutely not worth the £10. I would advice to visit the stunning area around the castle (beaches, caves, hills). These are all beautiful and free! If you really do want to see the "castle", just hike 5 min to the top of the hill

Breathtaking views and amazing location. Visiting the castle is a must. There isn't much left of the structure other than ruins, but the walkways and the views are well worth the time and effort. Highly recommended.

This is a must see castle ruin, a small walk from the village or a land-rover ride for £2 down to the castle or back up. A beautiful place and stunning location, lots of steep steps to climb but well worth every step. Lovely village with lots of interesting little shops.

Tintagel Castle is reputed to be the childhood home of King Arthur. The castle is in ruins but is quite extensive with one part on an island accessible by bridge and the rest on the mainland adjacent. There are lots of steps to get up and down so not the best for those that are not as able bodied. We spent hours exploring the ruins and the island then ventured down to the beach to explore Merlin’s Cave were we spent even more time playing in the caves and we had to scramble back over the rocks as the tide came in so we wouldn't get wet. There was also a nice waterfall coming over the cliff which is also mentioned in many of the legends of the area.

Beautiful side of the coast lots of trekking paths up, very high, stairs available for 80% of the way.Very windy(mid april) jumper, hat on. Kids on parents backpack or over 7 years old, allow you to enjoy and keep them safe. Not all areas are protected by fences.Great fitness session in a mystical place, I skip the gym today no guilt no shame.
