We went there just before Halloween so the place looked fantastic ready for the ball at the weekend. The decor is very old-fashioned (on purpose) and it has a real antique vibe to the place, roaring log fire and subtly lit. The food was more in line with pub than cuisine but this suited us down to the ground after a hard days walking.
Beautiful place for a romantic meal and a hearty breakfast . Very welcoming and warm .
Went for Sunday dinner with the family. All the food was excellent. Locals and barman were very friendly too.
I've never written a review before, but after an awful experience of this place I thought I would.
I can't comment on the hotel, but the restaurant service was appalling.
The staff were nice enough, but seemed very awkward. The decor is dated and horrendous and the music played was cheesy.
Waited 2 hours for food as they first lost our order ticket, second time we asked they said it was being cooked and the 3rd time we asked they said they had forgotten.
Would of been 1 star had the staff not been so friendly.
Definitely wouldn't go back again though.
Friendly staff and good breakfast. Rooms are clean although quite small. Car parking at rear and the hotel is in a great location for local shops and places of interest.
Lobke and I just spent a lovely 3 days at this lovely hotel. Spotless rooms, lovely atmosphere and food and a charming friendly staff. We recommend this hotel to all our friends and we will definitely be back. Thank you so much
What can i say about this hotel without having a big smile on my face . The place is full of character's .The staff are so friendly . You can't not help but enjoy yourself there. The management are really nice and friendly and there isn't anything they wouldn't do for you . They make you feel welcome . It was that good and we had such a great time it is our intentions of going back again in early July . Really looking forward to it they do there best to make it home from home . A very big thank you
