Just wanted to say many, many thank yous to everyone who has ordered @tippletails fruit cake gifts for their loved ones. It’s just me sending out all your parcels and doing all the baking as the bakery is closed for now. It is heart warming writing all your messages and has given me a small insight into #coronalife and living in isolation. My lovely, friendly #postoffice staff are amazing too! Of course people are still having #birthdays and #lifechangingevents too and many are alone, so it is even more important to find a way of letting them know they are in your thoughts. I’ve written lots of poignant messages and sent out #thankyou parcels to our fantastic #keyworkers working their socks off while we #stayhomestaysafe ✨
Hello lovely people, I hope that you are all bearing up during this extraordinary period. I had several significant event cancellations at the beginning of this crisis & have been very appreciative of all the customers who have bought online which has used up some of the extra stock I was holding. Since last week’s partial lockdown was announced, it has been very challenging deciding what to do for the best in these difficult circumstances & I have been very conflicted, want...ing to make sure that I & my little business are part of the solution & not part of the problem, & feeling that fruit cake gifts are lovely but not essential! I’ve taken lots of advice from friends & fellow small business colleagues & have been persuaded that receiving a little treat from friends & families is a way of keeping in touch with the outside world, especially for those loved ones who are isolated & alone. I have had some moving messages to write & some lovely, lovely feedback from customers. So, carefully following the Food Standards Agency advice on handwashing & all hygiene rules as usual, I am busy wrapping & packing your lovely fruit cake gifts, & writing your messages on gift tags, which I know will be lifting peoples’ spirits – teatime treats to make things just a little bit better in the difficult weeks & months ahead. I will keep doing this while I have stock. Tipple Tails is a small business, just me & you – my lovely customers, & I am very thankful for all your support. I couldn’t do it without you so please keep sending me notes & chatting to me on social media. Difficult times no doubt ahead, but we will get through this together. Take care & stay safe. Jane x

Adversity often brings out the best in people and despite having all their wedding plans cancelled, Hannah and Josh managed to arrange a small intimate wedding in just a few days. It was such an honour to be a small part of their special day.
