Residential Care & Supported Living services for adults with learning disabilities.

TLC Care Homes has been in operation since 1997, the company was taken over in 2008 by Glen Harms and Ralph Charles, gradually increasing in size as the opportunities have arisen.

Services have been developed to meet individual needs whilst providing high quality care and accommodation. TLC currently provides both Registered Care and Supported Living options to individuals who have a moderate to severe Learning Disability with complex challenging needs and /or a Mental Health diagnosis over the age of 16. Adopting the principles of Positive Behaviour Support we use a person centred approach to design and implement short and long term intervention and support strategies to minimise and manage challenging behaviour.

Blamsters Farm, situated on the outskirts of Halstead, is set in 4 acres of beautifully kept grounds. There are seven services on site ranging from 2 bedroom cottages up to a 6 bed barn conversion. The site enjoys the benefits of a rural location yet Halstead town centre is only a ten minute walk away, public transport is also easily accessible. The Halstead homes are currently registered for a total of 37 beds.

TLC also have 3 Registered Care Homes situated in St Osyth and Weeley, all within close proximity of each other. These are 5 /6 bed services with extensive grounds and close to the local amenities also on public transport routes.

TLC expanded into Supported Living when it became clear that some of the people we provided a service to, required a different environment and type of support. This side of the business is expanding as the need and referrals arise. Services are being set up that are person centred with individualised support packages. We currently provide support in Westcliffe, Southend, Dunmow, Saffron Walden, Earls Colne, Braintree, Halstead & Colchester.

The Management Team at TLC Care Homes have a wealth of experience and qualifications and are a continual visible and approachable presence within the services.

Our staff are central to everything that we do and achieve. We look for passionate, caring and approachable individuals who treat others just as they would wish to be treated themselves.

We support people with a range of needs and our person centred approach means we listen to individuals to develop a support plan which focuses on minimising interventions, teaching coping strategies and maximising opportunities.

Our aim is to support a journey to independence.
