My old Jill enjoying some sunshine while I enjoy a glass of wine. Jill came to me through the rescue many years ago having been left tied out to a post in a snow storm to die. She had too many issues to be safely homed in a pet home (mainly liking to bite people and kill other dogs!!) so Barbara suggested seeing if she would work sheep as an outlet for her, putting her in my kennels saying 'she won't bite you if you feed her!!!' She never did work sheep and Barbara never to...ok her back and so 10 years later and after sever liver failure two years ago, which she miraculous recovered from, much to even the vets surprise (Jill has never been a quiter) here she is enjoying her old age as she should. Now a days no longer wanting to bite people so much as give you a paw for a treat - although she still thinks she's hard enough to kill another dog or at least put it in it place and you know what she might be right lol. If Barbara hadn't taken her in and we didn't have the facilities to keep dogs like Jill in sanctuary I have no doubt she would not be here today enjoying her old age. Its nice to know you've done something good no matter how small and see something benifit from it - no matter how many times she threatened to bite me in the past lol - but never actually did bless her, I think she likes me really 😉😁.

Well look what we have here - the black sheep of the family. Although about half our ewes are black so far this is the only black lamb we have had so far and isn't he adorable 😍. Belive it or not these pictures were taken just an hour after he was born, just look at the size of him and how cute is his little face!!

Well our Rylands flock have just about finished lambing now and the first of our commercial flock started today, right on time. The Ryelands are so sweet and steady (if a little greedy). They will do anything for food, especially this mother and twins who are by far the greedies sheep I have ever known, they will eat anything, drink milk off of anyone they really are not bothered. The persil white lambs belonging to the first of our Badgerfaces are adorable but been a hil sheep mother is very indipendant (wild nutcase lol) so pictures taken on a zoom from a safe distance is best I can do 🤣🤣

User

A bit of sunshine and lamb cuteness to keep you all smiling in these tough times 😊😊🐑🐑

Dog Training and Behaviour Based in Eldwick, West Yorkshire
TLC Thinking Like Canines dog training – all breeds Pulling on a lead... Poor recall Jumping up Aggression Barking Anxiety
Behavioural consultations and training for all breeds and problems with the TLC – Thinking Like Canines technique developed by Barbara Sykes MCFBA MBIPDT (Canine and Feline Behaviour Association and the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers)
Your behavioural or training consultation will include you, your dog and your family so that everyone is included in the training. You will be given printed information to take home and you will have a free six months back up service provided by email or telephone.
The TLC method of understanding and training dogs is without the use of check chains, titbits, haltis and toys. It helps people to gain their dog’s love, affection and good manners through natural body language and canine communication.
Helping you to access the mind of your dog, to know what they are thinking and to understand their behaviour, communicate with them and to provide a foundation for all forms of dog training.
Quite often we give mixed messages to our dogs that make it difficult for them to understand what we want from them and can cause adverse behaviour.
If we make dog training complicated we are making our own lives complicated. Dogs are very simplistic, they understand their own language and instincts and if we want to make training easy for both them and ourselves we must make every effort to communicate with them in a way they understand.
All consultations are run on an individual basis throughout the week and weekends and must be pre booked. For bookings or more information please call Vicki on 07908527767 (anytime) Barbara on 01274 564163 (office hours) Or visit Mainline Border Collie Centre at www.bordercollies.co.uk
