Toast is a fantastic venue, yes maybe a little small but I think that adds to it. Joe is a great host and his team have always been flawless. Fully recommend it.

Served by a lad called Reuben. 10 mojitos and all were exceptional. I've had some really dire pathetic lame excuses for a Mojito but I'm going to throw it out there that these mojitos were amazing beyond belief...Reuben clearly has been to Mojito making school and I imagine he got a double first...keep it going Reuben and you'll flourish

I luckily swooped a competion prize and managed to spend a lunch time here with my mom. The venue is stunning and already planning girls nights out and cocktail making sessions. The anti-pasti sharing board is the most epic I've ever seen and the cocktails delish. Highly recommend!!!

I came here for the first time a few weeks ago for my Birthday and loved it! Have come tonight and currently here now and the Bar Manager, Joseph, is one of the best cocktail connoisseurs IβÄôve ever seen! His skills are unbelievable, making me my fav cocktail which is rare to find in any cocktail bar. Amazing to see a business like this in Bedford οΩΫοΩΫ

Finally somewhere in Bedford that reminds me of home! Toast is your local independent cocktail bar that combines quality and style, with a warm and welcoming service. Toast hosted my 23rd birthday at the end of February and it was a fantastic experience. From booking with Guy at the end of 2017 through to Sophie hosting the evening, the team did a incredible job in making sure my area was looked after and I was happy. Highly recommend and I am certain I will become a regular!

Came in for the βĉWine down WednesdayβÄô this week. Happy to say we had a great evening. Considering we booked on the day we were able to get a table. For mid week it was still pretty busy, and the barman coped well.



After tasting a selection, we chose a lovely bottle of red and had an antipasti plied so high I didnβÄôt think we would finish it. We ordered a platter between the 4 of us, and it was definitely value for money. Cheeses, Italian meats, olives, warm bread and more.



Great value for ¬Θ25 would highly recommend it for a mid week treat!

Booked the Snug for a close friends birthday celebration.... firstly, it was free!! Secondly, considering no charge for the booking, I was so impressed with both the service and the atmosphere, we had a great evening and the cocktails are amazing!! Thank you and see you again soon!

Amazing cocktails and fantastic service. Manager was really friendly and made the effort to greet everybody. Waiters and waitresses were extremely attentive and very friendly. Loved it and will definitely return!

Top little joint, staff were friendly and efficient, although the first round turned up and the bar man dropped two of the four drinks off the tray into our laps !



Not to worry though, got free drinks to compensate, apart from that little miss gap, a smart friendly fun place to drink and the music is great being mostly old soul and rock n roll, not todayβÄôs boom boom makes no sense gangster rubbish !

The soulful music and comfy chairs sold it for me. Of course my Gin with fresh ginger on ice helped. οΩΫοΩΫ

A friend end and I came to toast on Friday, we were approached with a warm welcome and served promptly, we didnβÄôt wait long for our cocktails which were just lush!! Definitely recommend the Parma violet cocktail οΩΫ staff were friendly .

Only downfall is the seating area outside, was nice to sit out, over looking the river but there are too many tables for the small area and you feel like your being intrusive on other peopleβÄôs space..overall I would definitely return, oh and βÄ€expensiveβÄù? Pay for what you get not just the cocktail but the pleasure of being somewhere a little classierοΩΫ

Been here many times and loved it.... tonight unfortunately the service has been shocking! Booked a table and been sat here for past 20 minutes being ignored by multiple staff while they chat amongst themselves obviously to busy to do the job they are paid to do. Not sure where the original staff are.... but bring them back!

A generous 3 star review. I was sceptical about going here after being told that the manager had previously advised my Sister during opening nights that they want an 'upper middle class clientele', as being a new bar in Bedford this just sounds pretenious, however, on arrival I was pleasantly surprised. A warm welcome from a waiter and our drinks order was taken quickly. Despite one cocktail and a pint taking 15 minutes to arrive, the cocktails are amazing! Full of flavour and beautifully decorated.

However, the service fell down from here, we had a table booked for a friends 30th birthday but due to the managers mis-communication our table was double booked. In fairness to the manager he did find us alternative seating, however the area was too small for our party so we ended feeling like we were 'in the way' standing in the narrow upstairs walk way.

On the whole the waitresses/waiters were friendly and made us feel welcome... until my Husband overheard the bar staff 'rating' the girls going past out of 10! How unprofessional and immature are your staff? Perhaps they should have been on the otherside of the bar?

I wanted to love this bar and spend many more nights out with friends drinking the beautiful cocktails but unfortunately I just feel a bit let down.

Incredibly slow service at the bar, despite it not being that busy. The drinks were ok but I definitely wouldn't go as far as enjoyable and the bar staff, although we're not rude, we're also not particularly friendly.

The two stars I have given are for the doorman, who was very friendly and polite and went out of his way to find us a seat.

After seeing so much online advertising from Toast, particularly about "Wine Down Wednesday's" we decided to give it a try.



We booked, and arrived at the arranged time. The 'barman' mumbled a couple of incomprehensible sentences which ended with "sit anywhere not reserved" so we informed him we had booked and sat down. Now there was 1 other group (of 4) in the bar, yet it took 9 minutes for the barman to come over and ask what wine we wanted. At this point I was ready to walk, but my partner went to the bar, bearing in mind the offer we booked, my partner was told they only had 2 red wines, and when she questioned about tasting, was told she could taste one only! She didn't bother, simply selected a "so-so" bottle of wine and sat back down very unimpressed with the disinterested barman and the ridiculously poor service. 15 minutes later the platter arrived - platter was ok, overloaded with cheese (enough for four or six!) and very little else, but adequate, which is the reason for the two stars, as the service would be lucky to receive any stars!



As we hadn't arranged a taxi, we decided to order another bottle of wine - oddly, apparently this wine isn't in the till so was rang through as a Speciality Gin?!? And cost nearly ¬Θ20! Overpriced for what it was.



A disappointing visit, not one we will be repeating.

We booked a table this Saturday. After waiting at the bar for 30 odd minutes to order 3 cocktails, the waitress then came over to the table to tell us that we were entitled to table service. This was not mentioned when we erre first seated. The waitress never returned to take our second order. Unfortunately very poor customer service by any standard!

Too busy, slow service, bland (over priced) cocktails. ItβÄôs the second time weβÄôve been and can honestly say that we wonβÄôt be returning. It took 15 minutes for our drinks to be made, and even then there was no where to sit or any room to move because there was just too many people in there. IβÄôd recommend Bear and Tales in Bedford if youβÄôre looking for an alternative!

Myself and my wife went here after a visit to the cinema on a Wednesday, we went to order a drink at the bar to be told that we will be served on this occasion but can only have 1 drink then we have to leave as I was wearing a t-shirt. The dress code I am informed is shirt and shoes, I replied was this the case even on a Wednesday and the barman said yes. I then looked around and discovered there were other people with t-shirts on but they had been served without an issue. I was very annoyed and said the the barman that it feels like my money isnβÄôt good enough and he just shrugged his shoulders. We will definately will not be frequenting this establishment again, good move Toast Bedford at being totally pretentious this is Bedford not upmarket London (even your customers agreed with us)
