TOBECONFIRMED Theatre present 'Six Attempts to Swallow a Scream' at Theatre N16.

We want to get under the skin of the complexities of female rage to ask: how do we express the seemingly inexpressible?
... Six Attempts to Swallow a Scream is a devised piece interrogating our struggle to understand our emotions, both as women and artists. Utilising recorded and live sound to underscore the non-verbal, we will peel away layers of convention, offering an alternative narrative of the lived female experience. This piece attempts to articulate the frustration of the inexplicable. It will be messy, playful and political. Our tongues will burn, our clothes will be stained, our bodies will sweat: you’re lying if you've never had a sweaty fanny.
Six Attempts to Swallow a Scream will be performed on the 18th, 19th and 20th of September at 8:30pm.
Running Time: Approx. 60 minutes.

Formed on MA Advanced Theatre Practice at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, TOBECONFIRMED Theatre are a collaborative of six women. Through ensemble-led practice, they make experimental work that interrogates questions of female identity.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout making ‘Six Attempts to Swallow a Scream’ and to those who joined us last night at the Old Red Lion Theatre! Creative & emotional support has been overwhelming.
Incredible audience who gave us insightful, playful and in-depth feedback about the piece so THANK YOU so much. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces in the crowd!
For now, we’re all having a well deserved break and will be back developing in 3 wee...ks for our next run of the show at Theatre N16 in September! Hope to see you there!
