About Toby Carvery
Here at Toby Carvery Friary, we believe there's only one way to do our beloved British roast – and that's properly.
Toby Carvery Description
When it comes to roast dinners, we really know our stuff. Every day our chefs lay on a feast of tender, hand-carved meats with all the trimmings – including towering Yorkshire puds, golden roasties with all those lovely little crunchy bits, and plenty of freshly prepared veg, all crowned with proper gravy. So it's no wonder we're Blunsdon St Andrew's favourite carvery restaurant.

Dad’s are great aren’t they? Here at Toby, we love our Dads, and we’ve always believed the best way to show this is by tucking into a quality roast dinner with your loved ones. So, why don’t you give dad the special day he deserves with a Free Meal for Dad this Father’s Day, and book a table on Sunday 17th June after 6pm.
If you can’t make it in the evening for Dad’s free meal on Father’s Day, don’t worry! We’ll treat Dad to a free pint of Heineken or Stowford Press Cider, wh...en he orders a King Size meal. This offer is available at anytime from Friday 15th June, and will be valid throughout the weekend until 6pm on Sunday 17th June.
Make sure that you book in advance and download your voucher. You wouldn’t want Dad to miss out, would you?

This is the second time I’ve been to Swindon Toby carvery.
And each time , all staff polite, and service with a smile 😊
Can’t get any better than that 😁
Family of 9 for Sunday Lunch was Great! Service was a bit slow at start getting drinks before we could queue for the Carvery. But once drinks were sorted, we went and queued, which was very busy for peak time of 12.00 noon. Once seated with the meals, we could not fault in any way! All but one followed by Sweets and stuffed ourselves full!. Service was very good during the meal, sweets etc. Fully recommended The Friary!
Fab meal for a party of 7, all had Carvery. Each of us ate our fill, unfortunately there was no room for desert! Not too busy and didn’t feel rushed at all. Server was friendly, polite and helpful. A quick look at the app and we found a discount, which made our meal a bargain! Thank you
Went for a birthday meal. As usual food was good. Service was very good. Our waiter was Wayne he was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. He was very friendly always smiling. I thought this was very good. Shame more people aren't like this.
Very happy with our visit today. My family of four enjoyed our food, meat was lovely, veg cooked ok. My little girl had pasta which went down well. The poor man serving us was run ragged but coped well, very apologic for bringing the bill late, we were chatting as a family so we didn't mind. Out last 2 visits have been very exceptable. Used a voucher and bill came in at under £20 so bargin for a meal out. Thank you.
Popped in on the off chance of a meal full restaurant but was quite happy to sit in the bar and eat ..Can’t fault the food
Food was nice especially the Black Forest brownie dessert but the windows are disgusting and black and also dark patch maybe mould on the ceiling
boiling hot plates. Luke warm food. meat was VERY fatty and chewy. one pudding had to go back as the custard had a film on it where it was probably sat under a warming lamp. ice cream was melted. nice staff, but when you clearly let them know about the meat and sending food back, you would at least expect them to offer a reduction on the bill :( Not the best
Too hot - the air con isn't working so we didn't stop for pudding!!!!
Lovely staff. Good got and plenty of it however the floor under the table still had breakfast on it so not cleaned at all. 😮
Food was awesome but the fact there was no air conditioning was a joke, won’t be back until the winter
Booked table for 1615 on a Sunday. As expected the restaurant was very busy but it took over 30 mins of queuing to get to the carvery. Not easy with two young children. The food was excellent and very plentiful but the main thing to let the whole experience down was the heat in the restaurant. It was unbearable. Asked for some windows to be opened but staff only opened one small window which made no difference. Air con wasnt working either. Put us off our meal and we couldn't wait to leave. That alone would put us off going again.
Went today and wasn't too happy with children's choices. No crumpets or cereals at all. Only option we were told was a kids breakfast from the buffet. We accepted to then be charged £20 just for two adult and one kids breakfast and drinks. My daughter had 2 slices of toast and and some apple juice, not really worth the £5 you charged for it. Won't be coming to get ripped off again, cheers, flies hanging around the food didn't make it any better either - should of just gone to McDonalds like I planned!
It wasn’t very nice at all hardly any thing on plate looked like it had been thrown on it nice evening ruined
Worst visit ever today came in with my kids and was left standing at the desk for ages not a sorry for the wait or even agnollaged they wasnt even busy it was a case of no staff! Then some blob came to the desk looking like she had lost 50 pound and found 50p! So i just said to her can i take my kids over the other side to eat. Then i go to the bar and the guy behind the till who looked like hes never seen sun light couldnt of been more rude to me! Never again
Went for breakfast, didn’t expect much but was just poor. Food was plain, bacon was undercooked and extremely fatty etc. Tables weren’t being cleared, the high chair we used was damaged and taped up. Wetherspoons is cheaper and much better (never expected to ever say that)
Poor customer service...rude staff, food was ok...shame really that it's gone so downhill
Normally love toby but today to celebrate my sons birthday we are left disapointed.... Dry meat unapeeling veg and gravy ( one lump or two!!!) also my wifes plate was full of water as the chef places the meat on the plate ( suppose the meat was dry..) let waitres know and she passed our gripe on to manager. Again very disapointed..
Food was burnt orderd extra pigs in blankets that was black. After getting food there was no gravy in pots. Service was bad ordered drinks went up got food sat down waited ages for drinks had to go up to bar and get them while food was getting cold. Sat next to window with mould growing all around it looked like it hasn't been cleaned for a long time.
