"I remember moving here (in the early nineties) from Brixton Hill which was quite cool at the time and we thought it was the best place to be. But then we had to move out and we could only find a house in Tooting. I remember being really depressed about it as I thought it was such a dull place to live – but now it would be hard to wrench me away!
"I love the l...ido, it’s possibly my favourite place to be, no matter the season. There’s a wonderful community there, and I often find myself gossiping in the sauna after a swim.
I helped set up Transition Town Tooting with a friend over ten years ago, as I was becoming more and more concerned about the effects of climate change on the planet, and wanted to address it on a local level. TTT has gone from strength to strength, running all sorts of community events every year and engaging the community far and wide. Tooting is a fantastic place for organisations like this, and I love its vibrancy. Like I said, you couldn’t tear me away!"
